๐จ CRITICAL REGIONAL LEAGUE UPDATE: 2026/27 SEASON YOUTH PLAYER MANDATES ๐จ
New mandatory youth player regulations are now in effect for all Regional Leagues. Club management, coaching staffs, and match officials must strictly adhere to these updated rules.
๐ Starting XI Requirements
Teams must field a specific number of youth players at kickoff:
โUnder-20: Minimum of 5 players required.
โUnder-17: Minimum of 2 players required.
โ Failure to meet these numbers at kickoff constitutes a non-compliant, ineligible team selection breach.
๐ Substitution & Match Rules
Roster management during games must comply with the following limits:
โ7 Substitutes: Teams are permitted up to 7 substitutions per match.
โU20 Rule Maintenance: The baseline number of U20 players must remain on the pitch throughout the game, except in cases of verified injury.
โFirst-Half Restriction: Substituting a mandatory U20 player in the first 45 minutes is strictly prohibited, unless forced by a verified injury.
โInjury Replacement: If a mandatory U20 player is removed due to injury, they must be replaced by another eligible U20 player.
โ ๏ธ Ineligible Participant Offences
Severe penalties apply for non-compliance. Violations will be treated as an ineligible team selection breach for:
โ Failing to meet the youth requirements in the starting eleven.
โFailing to comply with the mandatory youth minutes requirements during the match.

Football Club Development Workshop 2026
Theme: Strengthening Club Leadership, Governance, Strategic Planning, Sponsorship & Membership Growth
The Football Club Development Workshop is a practical pre-season capacity-building programme designed to equip football club leaders, administrators, coaches and committee members with the knowledge and skills needed to build well-managed, sustainable and competitive clubs.
As football continues to evolve, success depends not only on performance on the field but also on strong leadership, effective governance, sound financial management, strategic planning and meaningful community engagement. This workshop will provide participants with practical tools and proven strategies to strengthen their club structures, improve administration, attract sponsors, grow membership and create long-term sustainability.
Through interactive presentations, discussions and practical exercises, participants will develop action plans that can be implemented immediately in preparation for the upcoming league season.
Whether your club is newly established or well established, this workshop offers an opportunity to learn, network, share experiences and build a stronger future for football in the region.

๐ Harry Engleton Wins the Re-run Election! ๐
Following a formal complaint regarding the initial election process, the highly anticipated re-run took place yesterday. Harry Engleton emerged victorious, securing the chairmanship with a 26 to 17 vote count!
The election brought significant changes to the executive structure. It was a tough day for Phillimon Bunu, and the Vice Secretary seat also changed hands, with Gaamangwe defeating Keita Keitatole. The remaining committee members successfully retained their positions.

The champions Orapa All Stars are officially representing the Boteti Regional Football Association in the highly anticipated DTCB Tournament Northern Block!
The journey to the top was clinical. The Meerkats locked down the regional championship in just two gamesโsecuring a gritty 1-0 victory over Letlhakane United, and completely dismantling Mmatshumo with a dominant 5-0 goal fest (while Diamond Chiefs forfeited).
Now, the focus shifts to Pool A, where the Meerkats will be locking horns with Chobe region's Panda United and Nhabe region's City Kings.
