HISTORIC WIMBLEDON DEBUT FOR RAGUIN

Botswana tennis will record another historic milestone today as 17-year-old tennis sensation, Ntungamili Raguin officially steps onto the courts to become the first-ever Motswana to compete at the Wimbledon Junior Championships.

The tennis player, who has been steadily ascending the global youth rankings, faces a clear but grueling objective to win two consecutive qualifying matches to earn a coveted spot in the main draw of world sport’s most iconic tournament.

His opening fixture will be against Felix Roussel of Canada, and the Wimbledon campaign follows a steep learning curve for the youngster, who is adjusting rapidly to unfamiliar playing conditions.

Last week, he made his first-ever competitive appearance on a grass surface at the J300 Roehampton Championships.

Despite an early exit in the final qualifying round against Slovenia’s Svit Suljic, the experience has been vital preparation for his historic appearance in London.
