Officials and players gathered at NUL’s Netherlands Hall as the Lesotho Badminton Association and Botswana Badminton Association officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding today. This partnership marks the beginning of an exciting journey of collaboration, development and greater opportunities for our players and the future of badminton.

Together, we are building stronger pathways, nurturing young talent and inspiring the next generation to dream bigger and aim higher. The future of badminton is bright!

Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for badminton in Botswana and Lesotho! 🏸🇧🇼🇱🇸

The Botswana Badminton Association and Lesotho Badminton Association have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding, committing to the growth and development of badminton through an annual rotating tournament, with a strong focus on junior development.

This partnership is about more than competition. It is about creating opportunities for young athletes, developing coaches and technical officials, identifying new talent, strengthening our badminton communities and building a pathway towards regional, continental and international success.

The inaugural tournament commenced today in Lesotho in 2026, with Botswana proudly set to host the 2027 edition. This is the beginning of a long-term vision to grow the game, strengthen cooperation and give the next generation of players a platform to dream bigger. Botswana proudly sent a team of young athletes to compete in the Under-15 and Under-17 categories.

Together, we are building more than a tournament. We are building a future. Let us build together. Let us develop together. Let us give the next generation a pathway to greatness.
