Bhutan Shooting Federation is pleased to share the performance update of Bhutanese shooter Tandin Wangchuk at the ISSF World Cup currently underway in Munich, Germany.

Competing in his very first ISSF World Cup in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event, Tandin Wangchuk scored 565 points, securing Rank 90 out of 142 athletes from around the world.

Although slightly below his previous international championship score of 567, today’s performance marks an important milestone in his sporting journey as he stepped onto one of the highest levels of international shooting competition for the first time.

According to the Head Coach Dorji Phurba’s perspective, this performance reflects an important step in Tandin’s competitive development. Competing under World Cup conditions against some of the world’s top shooters requires composure, discipline, and mental strength. Despite the challenging environment, he demonstrated determination and the ability to remain focused throughout the competition.

The difference from his previous international score is minimal and should be viewed in the context of competing at a significantly higher level for the first time. More importantly, the competition has provided valuable exposure and learning opportunities, particularly in match temperament, pressure management, and tactical ex*****on.

At the same time, this experience has highlighted a few key areas for further improvement. Greater consistency in managing match pressure, maintaining a stable and repeatable shot process, strengthening mental recovery after lower-value shots, and improving competition tactics such as rhythm, pacing, and decision-making during matches will be important areas of focus moving forward. Continued exposure to international competitions will also play a key role in building confidence, competitive maturity, and performance consistency.

The Bhutan Shooting Federation congratulates Tandin Wangchuk for his dedication, perseverance, and proud representation of Bhutan on the international stage. We remain confident that this valuable experience will further strengthen his preparation for future international competitions and support his continued growth as an athlete.

Wishing Tandin Wangchuk continued success in the journey ahead.

The two-week Advanced Training Camp organized by the Bhutan Shooting Federation has officially concluded successfully today. The camp provided an excellent opportunity for Bhutanese athletes and coaches to enhance their technical skills, discipline, and overall performance in the sport of shooting.

The Bhutan Shooting Federation would like to express its sincere gratitude to the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India for their joint initiative and generous support in funding this important training program. Such collaboration continues to strengthen the long-standing friendship and sporting partnership between the two nations.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Coach Garbha Raj Rai from India for dedicating his time, expertise, and valuable guidance throughout the training camp. Working closely alongside Bhutanese coaches, Coach Rai delivered advanced-level coaching and shared professional techniques that greatly benefited our athletes.

The Federation also thanks all participating athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters for their commitment and hard work during the past two weeks. We hope the knowledge and experience gained from this camp will contribute positively to the future growth of shooting sports in Bhutan.

Together, we continue to aim higher and work towards excellence in the international shooting arena.
