"Sports is empowering," says 15 year old Tandin Wangmo (Two time National Tennis Champion 2015-2016), a sentiment also shared by other female atheletes like 19 year old Jangchub (Taekwondon athelete) and 15 year old Tshering (Track runner). Participation in sport and physical activities positively impacts physical and mental health, and reduce the probability of young people engaging in drug use, thereby helping them live better and fuller lives. Sports, especially, can give girls the skills and confidence to break down barriers and achieve goals throughout their lives. 💜
So, in an effort to promote girls' participation in sports, the Women in Sports Committee under BOC presents campaign (in partnership with Yeewong). Support this cause for our girls because they need your cheers too.🙋🙋🙋
All interested ladies (no age limit) in trying out for the Women's National Basketball Team are requested to come for try outs starting tomorrow on Tuesday, Thursday (7:00-9:00pm) and Saturday at 5:00-7:00pm at the Swimming Pool Basketball Court.
