HIGH VOLUME & HIGH PROTEIN
A calorie deficit is key for fat loss, but that doesn’t mean starving yourself!! Eating high-volume, lower calorie meals with plenty of protein helped me stay full and energized while in a deficit.

STRENGTH TRAINING
Strength training is essential during fat loss for maintaining muscle and actually targeting fat loss (not just weight loss). I resistance train 3-5x per week.

STEPS & CARDIO
I aim for 8k-10k steps daily and added 2-4 cardio sessions per week (20-30 min jogs or biking) when I was in a fat loss phase. Cardio isn’t required for fat loss, but it definitely helped with my goals and made me feel more athletic too.

NO RESTRICTIONS
I still have dessert every night and go out on weekends-whether I’m cutting, bulking, or maintaining. The difference is plan around it, make mindful choices, and adjust where needed!

CONSISTENCY & PATIENCE
The most important part. Some weeks (or even a month) the scale won’t move or will fluctuate a lot. That’s normal. I aimed for about ~0.5 Ib per week on average and focus on sticking with it long term.

This change is over 3 years.
Losing 30 lbs sustainability in 1.5 years.

Now I alwaysss always say consistency is the key, but what I find is the biggest thing that held me (and my clients) back from actually achieving consistency is learning how to become adaptable.

That is the missing piece time and again. If you want to actually build consistency and results that last, you NEED to become adaptable - taking into account weekends, vacations, social events, and all of life’s best moments that end up throwing you off track and feeling like it’s all-or nothing.
