Mobility Monday 💕🎊

If you're constantly saying, "Boy, my body stiff!" this one's for you.

Whether you're sitting at a desk all day, driving from meeting to meeting, or binge-watching your favorite show, your body wasn't designed to stay in one position for hours.

Today's Mobility Monday is so simple... a caveman could do it. 😄

✅ Toe Touch – Loosens your hamstrings, calves, and lower back while improving flexibility.

✅ Seated Side Stretch – Opens your sides, shoulders, and spine while relieving tension from sitting all day.

That's it. Two movements. Less than two minutes.

Consistency beats complexity every single time. Your body doesn't need fancy—it needs movement.

So get up, stretch it out, and show your body a little love today.

💬 Tell me... where do you carry the most tension: your back, hips, or neck?

I thought this was so funny until I couldn't actually do it. How many of you can do this????

Thanks .steficohen for the challenge and for being a great sport

I'm curious who can do this😂😂😂

💪🏽 Happy Fit Friday💖🫶🏾

Your shoulders are some of the hardest-working joints in your body, yet they're often one of the most neglected.

If you spend hours at a desk, lift weights, play sports, or constantly find yourself reaching overhead, your shoulders deserve more than just a workout—they deserve mobility, stability, and recovery.

Healthy shoulders aren't built by strength alone.

They need:
✔️ Good posture
✔️ Full range of motion
✔️ Strong rotator cuff muscles
✔️ Mobile upper back
✔️ Regular stretching and recovery

Pain isn't always the first sign that something is wrong. Stiffness, clicking, limited movement, and tightness can all be your body's way of asking for attention.

This Fit Friday, take a few extra minutes to care for your shoulders. Stretch them, strengthen them, and move them through their full range of motion.

Your future self—and your shoulders—will thank you.

✨ Move better.
✨ Recover smarter.
✨ Live well.

Have you stretched your shoulders today? 👇🏽💖

What does wellness mean to me?

Wellness is mind, body, and spirit.

It's learning myself well enough to honour my body and give it what it needs, not always what it wants.

It's choosing movement when I'd rather stay on the couch.
It's choosing rest when my body is asking for it.
It's choosing prayer when my mind feels overwhelmed.
And it's choosing foods that fuel me instead of foods that leave me feeling sluggish.

Now don't get me wrong... I still have my moments. 😂 But I've learned that every healthy choice is an act of self-respect.

And one thing I've realized on this journey...

Sugar is my enemy... the devil is working overtime through desserts! 😅🍰

But every day, I choose progress over perfection.

What does wellness mean to you? 💚

What does it really mean to be fit?

When people hear the word fit, they often picture a certain body type. But fitness doesn't have one look.

You can be fit at different sizes, different ages, and in different stages of life.

For me, being fit means being in good physical health. It means having the strength to do everyday life with energy, moving without pain, recovering well, and taking care of the body God has entrusted to me.

It's not about chasing someone else's body—it's about becoming the healthiest version of yourself.

So instead of asking, "Do I look fit?" maybe we should ask, "Am I treating my body in a way that supports my health?"

Fitness isn't one size fits all. It's a lifestyle of choosing movement, nourishment, and consistency.

I had the pleasure of hosting The Rehab Wellness first Stretch & Mobility Online Session, and it was so much fun! 💖

We focused on the basics because sometimes the most fundamental movements teach us the most about our bodies.

One of the movements we explored was the squat.

Not just performing a squat, but learning how to hold it, sink into it, and understand which muscles are being activated.

We discussed stability, mobility, balance, and how a simple movement can reveal tight hips, weak glutes, limited ankle mobility, and even poor core engagement.

The truth is, movement isn't just movement.

Every exercise tells a story about your body.

And once you understand that story, you can begin moving with more intention and confidence.

This is just the beginning, and I'm so excited for what's ahead.

✨ Move better.
✨ Live better.
✨ Recover better.

Not everyone starts exercising because they want to lose weight.

Some of us start because we want to **live longer, feel stronger, and protect our future.**

That was me.

My fitness journey wasn't driven by chasing a smaller body—it was driven by realizing that my heart, my health, and my quality of life deserved my attention.

As a woman in my 40s, I've learned that wellness is so much more than what you see in the mirror.

It's having the energy to show up for the people you love.
It's keeping your heart healthy.
It's maintaining your strength and mobility as you age.
It's reducing your risk of chronic disease.
It's caring for the one body you'll have for the rest of your life.

I also wanted to be an example—for my daughter, my family, and for anyone who thinks, "I'm not overweight, so I don't need to exercise."

The truth is, you don't have to be trying to lose weight to benefit from movement.

Exercise is one of the greatest gifts you can give your future self.

So don't wait until your body demands your attention.

Choose to move today because health is about so much more than appearance.

💖 Move for your heart.
💖 Move for your mind.
💖 Move for your future.

Health isn't a size. It's a lifestyle.

🍗 Confession time... I am unapologetically NOT a kitchen girl. 😂

Sorry... not sorry.

If I can spend less time in the kitchen and more time living my life, that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Now don't get me wrong—I absolutely believe in healthy eating and meal prepping. But there are some days when being an adult is the very last thing I want to do. 😩

Those are the days when it's tempting to hit the drive-thru... but (ein no drive-thru in Exuma) I've learned I don't have to choose between fast food and starving.

Enter my Lazy Girl Meals. 👏🏽

Today's menu?
🍗 Rotisserie chicken
🍠 Sweet potato
🥗 A quick salad if I'm feeling extra.

Other days it's seasoned ground turkey or chicken that I cooked ahead of time. The goal isn't to create a five-star dinner—it's to make eating healthy so easy that I actually stick with it.

Healthy eating doesn't have to be fancy.
It doesn't have to be Instagram-worthy.
It just has to work for your life.

If buying a rotisserie chicken helps you stay consistent, buy the chicken.
If meal prepping saves your sanity, meal prep.
If simple keeps you on track, keep it simple.

Because consistency will always beat perfection. 💚

💬 Be honest... are you a "cook from scratch every night" person, or are you on Team Lazy Girl Meals like me?

✨ Wellness Wednesday: | Things I No Longer Do in My 40s

Getting older has taught me that wellness isn't about doing more—it's about doing what serves you.

Here are 3 things I no longer do as a woman in my 40s:

1. 🚫 No loud alarms.
I don't like waking up in panic mode anymore. I prefer to wake up peacefully with Scripture, affirmations, or soft music. How I start my morning sets the tone for my entire day.

2. 📝 I don't depend on my brain for memory.
If it's important, it gets written down. My planner, calendar, and notes app are my best friends. Protecting my mental space means not expecting my brain to remember everything.

3. 🍽️ I don't overeat.
I've learned to listen to my body's hunger and fullness cues. Eating until I'm stuffed doesn't make me feel good—it makes me feel sluggish. Nourishing my body is very different from simply filling it.

Your 40s aren't about restriction—they're about wisdom. It's about learning what your body needs and giving yourself permission to care for it differently.

💬 **What's one habit you've let go of that has improved your wellness?**

✨ Mobility Monday: Three Moves to Release Tension & Move Better

If you've been sitting at a desk, driving all day, or simply feeling stiff, this one's for you!

Here are 3 simple stretches you can do in just a few minutes to help your body feel refreshed.

🧘🏾 1. Child's Pose
A gentle stretch that helps lengthen the lower back, hips, and shoulders while giving your body a chance to slow down and breathe.

💆🏾‍♀️ 2. Neck Flexion (Left & Right)
Release built-up tension by gently bringing your ear toward your shoulder on each side. Perfect if you've been staring at a screen or carrying stress in your neck.

🦵🏾 3. Figure Four Stretch
One of my favorites for opening tight hips and relieving tension that can contribute to lower back discomfort.

Movement doesn't have to be complicated to be effective.

Just a few intentional minutes each day can help you move better, feel better, and show up better.

🤍 Your body is the only place you have to live—take care of it.

Save this routine for later, try it today, and let me know which stretch your body needed the most!
