On 8 July 2026, AITI was invited by Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) to participate in their Employee Wellbeing Week, contributing valuable insights to the "Safety around AI" segment.
AITI delivered an overview of the Guide on AI Governance and Ethics, highlighting the seven key principles organisations need to consider when developing and/or deploying AI systems. To ensure practical takeaway value, the session also focused on Effective Prompting, demonstrating how clear, intentional inputs can maximise the utility of AI tools while maintaining safety and data integrity.
AITI extends its appreciation to JPMC for organising an insightful segment that continues to support responsible innovation and effective adoption of AI within Brunei Darussalam’s ecosystem.

On 8 July 2026, Brunei Darussalam marks another milestone in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation as ChemBuddy Supreme+, developed by Hj Zadil Hayat bin Hj Kassim, Chemistry Teacher at Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School, Ministry of Education, was named one of the winners of the Innovate for Impact Awards under the Generative AI for Creativity category at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
ChemBuddy Supreme+ is an AI-powered educational platform designed to support personalised and inclusive chemistry learning through intelligent assistance, interactive learning features and tailored guidance for students and educators.
Selected from nearly 400 global entries, ChemBuddy Supreme+ was among 59 projects recognised for demonstrating the transformative potential of AI in creating meaningful social impact and contributing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This international achievement builds on its success at the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2025, where ChemBuddy Supreme+ won the Inclusion and Community Services Category.

On 7 July 2026, AITI conducted a dedicated Personal Data Protection (PDP) awareness session for the Beauty and Health Establishment Industry in Kuala Belait.
The session provided pratical guidance on how to integrate PDPO obligations into day-to-day business operations, with a focus on safeguarding the personal data of both clients and employees.
As organisations increasingly handle personal information in their daily activities, AITI remains committed to supporting private sector businesses in strengthening their data protection practices and promoting greater trust and confidence in the digital economy.

On 24 June 2026, Brunei Darussalam marked its inaugural participation in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 through the Southeast Asia Annecy Partners Pitches programme. The programme recognised as one of the world’s leading festivals dedicated to animation, the festival brought together approximately 18,300 accredited attendees from 118 countries, providing an international platform for animation professionals, creators, producers and industry stakeholders.
AITI supported a local digital content company; Oddbox Media & Communications Sdn Bhd, who was selected to pitch its Bruneian-made animated television project alongside representatives from Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam and the Philippines. Oddbox Media showcased its creative capabilities to international buyers, distributors and filmmakers, with the aim of exploring potential support, co-production arrangements, distribution opportunities and wider market access. The company was among 130 projects from various countries presented during the festival.
The participation also enabled the Brunei delegation to exchange knowledge and industry expertise, explore business-matching opportunities, gain insights into emerging animation trends and technologies, and benchmark international best practices.
The festival featured presentations by renowned global animation companies, including Pixar, which shared previews of its upcoming projects. This provided valuable exposure to the scale and potential of the global animation industry, while highlighting the opportunities available for emerging Bruneian creators to bring their original stories to international audiences.
The presence of the Brunei delegation underscored the nation’s growing digital creative sector and its aspirations to expand into new markets and opportunities across the global regions and this aligns with AITI’s new strategic plan in developing digitally skilled ICT creatives for the next five years.

On 2 July 2026, AITI conducted an insightful awareness session for the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA).
The session was designed to provide a comprehensive and practical understanding of the obligations under the Personal Data Protection Order (PDPO). Through tailored, real-world examples, SHENA participants gained deeper insights into data protection standards, regulatory enforcement, and compliance best practices.

AITI is seeking a Tenderer to develop, organise and manage an end-to-end programme which provides technical training and mentorship programme for digital animation creators to develop skills in producing commercialised short-animated film(s).
The objective is to nurture and develop a digitally skilled workforce in Brunei Darussalam particularly in animation production and to establish potential start-up(s) capable of producing animated contents using relevant digital tools and technologies.

On 2 July 2026, AITI presented a new laptop and desktop computer to the Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) Tutong in support of its ongoing digital activities and to enhance access to technology for its members.
The handover was officiated by Asimah binti Haji Hassan, Assistant Chief Executive of the Corporate Services Group of AITI, and received by Haji Hamaffi bin Md Yassin, Centre Manager of PKWE Tutong. Also in attendance were representatives from the Department of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, officials from AITI as well as members of PKWE Tutong.
The contribution reflects AITI’s continued commitment to advancing digital inclusion by empowering senior citizens with greater access to digital tools and opportunities, enabling them to participate more actively in an increasingly connected society.

On 30 June 2026, AITI was delighted to welcome 13 participants from the Korea–Brunei Darussalam Youth Exchange Programme 2026 for an educational visit centered around the theme: “AI-Ready Youth: Co-Creating a Sustainable Digital Future.”
During their visit, the youth gained valuable insights into AITI’s roles & responsibilities in shaping Brunei's digital landscape and the AI Guide, which promotes the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence. There was also an interactive session by Brunei4AI titled “Own Your Feed: Create Smarter, Scroll Safer, Share Better”, which hoped to inspire thoughtful and safe navigation of digital platforms.
Through initiatives like this, AITI remains committed to developing digitally empowered, future-ready youth.
