Monday nights are trivia nights.
For Bill and me, it’s become one of those rituals that anchors the week. We’ve been playing trivia with Quiz Master Mike Bishop for more than 20 years, including the past 10 at the Hamilton Princess. It’s about far more than getting the answers right. It’s community. Teamwork. A little healthy competition. Keeping the brain nimble. And searching for that one elusive brain cell that somehow remembers the answer everyone else has forgotten.
As if that’s not enough, walking through the Hamilton Princess is a reminder that curiosity comes in many forms. This Banksy piece stopped me in my tracks.
It made me think that whether it’s a trivia question, a conversation, or a piece of art, curiosity keeps us mentally alive.
Find your ritual. Find your tribe. Never stop exercising your mind. Stay curious.

No Quick Tip this week.
I’ve literally lost my voice.
Perhaps that’s life’s way of insisting I stop talking about resilience for a moment... and practice it instead.

Friday, on what would have been my mom’s 94th birthday, her ashes were interred beside my dad’s.
Surrounded by the lush green fields so familiar from my childhood, with the unmistakable scent of Pennsylvania, I had the privilege of speaking a few words to honor the remarkable woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she was.
As we laid her to rest, it felt as though a significant chapter of my life quietly came to an end. She was my person. She held my history. There, the threads that connected me to where I came from seemed to unravel and provided a sort of freedom. For her and for me.
In my eulogy, I spoke about how she gave me my very first lessons in resilience. Long before resilience became my profession, she was quietly teaching it through the way she lived: showing up, persevering, quietly navigating through hardships and continuing on through life’s joys with grace.
I can’t quite find the words to describe what this moment means, but I feel it deeply in my heart. Grief isn’t only about saying goodbye to the person we love. Sometimes it’s about recognizing that an entire chapter of our own life has come to its natural close.
Rest peacefully, Mom. Thank you for your love, your strength, and for giving me the foundation upon which I have built my own life. ❤️
