Shintaro Orihara recaps the British Grand Prix:

“We completed the full distance in yesterday’s Sprint and in today’s race with both cars, which is the first time since Miami. This is positive, considering we have had power unit reliability problems in the last two grands prix.

“Silverstone is challenging for energy management, especially through the high-speed corners and it’s difficult to predict how the drivers’ throttle application will occur. After practice and the Sprint, we had optimised our data settings with our current PU package.

“Post-qualifying we received some positive feedback from Fernando about driveability consistency and energy management. We also had the same in Austria and, even if we’re not where we want to be, it indicates that we’re working in the right direction with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™️ Team. This is particularly important before we introduce the new spec PU at the Dutch Grand Prix.”

“We have progressed the settings of the power unit, including energy management deployment and driveability to maximise our package in the Sprint and qualifying, while also looking at tomorrow’s grand prix.

“We look forward to racing at Silverstone as the crowd is always special.”

Driving for Honda, Rubens Barrichello rocketed from 16th on the grid to third at the chequered flag, marking the Brazilian’s final F1 podium with Honda and Honda’s final trip to the rostrum as a manufacturer.
