25 years ago today, Instructor Si and his company were on a mountain training exercise with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in the Rockies… then “ENDEX, ENDEX” crackled over the radio net and everything changed. 🏔️📻

Within hours, both the Brits and our Canadian hosts realised the world had shifted — and we were likely all about to be pulled into a war. Stranded in Alberta (Edmonton) with no military flights available, we did the only thing soldiers really could in that moment. 🇬🇧🇨🇦

We got absolutely hammered for five days straight. Si remembers none of it… but apparently learnt to ice skate anyway. 🍺⛸️

The world was a very different place before September 11, 2001. Today we remember those lost, those who served, and how quickly everything can change. 🕊️🇺🇸💙
