🎉🥋 45 JAAR SHAOLIN DOJO 🥋🎉
Wat in 1981 begon als een kleine dojo, groeide uit tot een hechte gemeenschap waar respect, discipline, vriendschap en persoonlijke groei al 45 jaar centraal staan.
Vandaag kijken we met trots terug op een bijzondere reis. Een reis die ons niet alleen doorheen generaties karateka heeft geleid, maar ons ook steeds dichter bracht bij de wortels van onze krijgskunst: Okinawa, de bakermat van Karate Jutsu.
Doorheen de jaren mochten honderden leerlingen, lesgevers en sympathisanten mee bouwen aan het verhaal van Shaolin Dojo. Samen hebben we getraind, geleerd, doorgezet, successen gevierd en uitdagingen overwonnen.
De afgelopen jaren waren daarbij extra bijzonder. Met de organisatie van de internationale Guardians of Ryukyu stages en onze nauwe samenwerking met grootmeesters uit Okinawa groeide onze band met het eiland sterker dan ooit.
Een absolute mijlpaal volgde in november 2025, toen Shaolin Dojo officieel rechtstreeks werd aangesloten bij de International Kenshikai Organisation (I.K.O.) in Okinawa. In dezelfde periode ontving onze hoofdtrainer, Hanshi Hubert Laenen, persoonlijk uit handen van Hokama Tetsuhiro Sensei de uitzonderlijke onderscheiding van 9de Dan, één van de hoogste erkenningen binnen de traditionele karatewereld.
Deze erkenning is niet enkel een eer voor onze lesgevers, maar voor iedereen die de voorbije 45 jaar deel heeft uitgemaakt van onze dojofamilie.
🙏 Dank aan alle leerlingen, ouders, lesgevers, vrienden en supporters die dit verhaal mee mogelijk hebben gemaakt.
Op naar de volgende 45 jaar, met dezelfde passie, dezelfde waarden en hetzelfde respect voor de tradities die ons verbinden met Okinawa.

What a weekend.

Guardians of Ryukyu 2026 – The Dragon Returns: Full Force has come to an end, and we look back with deep gratitude and pride on a truly outstanding edition.
Over three days, we shared training, knowledge, focus and connection — guided by an exceptional group of Sensei and supported by a committed team behind the scenes. We are incredibly happy with how this edition unfolded and we sincerely hope that each and every participant enjoyed the experience as much as we did.
Thank you to all who joined us on the tatami, to those who travelled from near and far, and to everyone who contributed to the respectful and inspiring atmosphere that defines Guardians of Ryukyu.

We open the weekend this evening with a focused and powerful start:

Kyusho Jutsu Seminar
• Registrations: from 18:00
• Training: 19:00 – 22:00

This special 3‑hour evening session is led by:
• Hanshi Hubert Laenen (9th Dan)
• Guest Sensei Pekka Warling

Expect depth, precision and insight into Kyusho Jutsu — vital‑point principles, structure, biomechanics and realistic application, rooted in authentic Okinawan Budo.
