Once and for all: no, we are not all narcissistic to some extent.

A narcissist’s intention to deceive stems from a desperate need to maintain the image they have created of themselves. When that image is exposed, it feels as though they are dying.

Non-narcissistic people do not have that same drive.

Standing up for yourself, protecting your boundaries, having self-confidence, or putting yourself first when necessary is not narcissistic behavior.

There is a difference between healthy self-protection and narcissism. Let’s not confuse the two.
