As a proud European Town of Sport, Trémolat continues to showcase the power of sport through an impressive variety of activities. 🏹⚽🎣

From archery and football to fishing, skiing and pétanque, the town’s vibrant sports associations brought the community together during its first Associations Fair, proving once again that sport is at the heart of local life, inclusion and wellbeing.

Since January 1, 2026, when Rzeszów proudly became a European City of Sport 2026, more than 169,000 cyclists have already been counted on this route.

This is the true value of the ACES Europe award: not just a title, but a catalyst for healthier lifestyles, sustainable mobility and stronger communities. Every cyclist represents a positive choice for health, the environment and the future of the city.

🏆 Paredes officially presents its title as the first Euro-Atlantic Capital of Sport 2027

The Municipality of Paredes has officially presented its designation as the first-ever Euro-Atlantic Capital of Sport 2027, a prestigious title awarded by ACES and announced in September 2025.

This historic recognition acknowledges Paredes' long-term commitment to promoting sport and physical activity, the excellence of its sporting infrastructure, and the development of inclusive programmes that encourage participation across all ages and abilities.

During the presentation, the municipality highlighted that this achievement reflects years of investment in sport throughout the entire territory.

"This distinction is only possible thanks to the commitment that has been made to sport across all disciplines and throughout the municipality."

🎯🏆 Great atmosphere, true sportsmanship, and plenty of fun defined the doubles pétanque tournament held in Vidici as part of the "Šibenik – European City of Sport 2026" programme. 🧡

Talented players put their skills on display, while spectators enjoyed a series of exciting and closely matches. 🤝☀️

🇨🇱 Visit successfully completed in Iquique, Chile!

ACES has concluded its evaluation visit to Iquique, candidate for the American City of Sport title.

A magnificent city in an extraordinary setting, where the Pacific Ocean, outstanding sports infrastructure and a strong commitment to active lifestyles come together to create an inspiring sporting destination.

Thank you to the Municipality of Iquique and everyone involved for their warm hospitality and dedication throughout the visit. We look forward to the next steps in the evaluation process.

🏆 Plovdiv has officially submitted its bid for the European Capital of Sport 2028.

Today, the city officially presented its candidature during a press conference attended by the Mayor of Plovdiv, representatives of the Medical University of Plovdiv, citizens and local media.

We wish Plovdiv the very best of luck throughout the evaluation process.

🏆 ACES honours Mayor Silvia Salis with the Silver Bowl for Sporting Merit

ACES was proud to present the Silver Bowl for Sporting Merit to Mayor Silvia Salis of Genoa, recognising her outstanding lifelong commitment to sport and the values it represents.

The award, engraved with the words “Deserving for a lifetime dedicated to sport”, was presented by ACES President Gian Francesco Lupattelli, together with Member of the European Parliament Brando Benifei, during the gala evening celebrating the 110th anniversary of Yacht Club Tigullio 1916 in Santa Margherita Ligure. 

Congratulations to Mayor Salis on this well-deserved recognition, celebrating a remarkable sporting journey and an enduring commitment to promoting sport as a driver of health, inclusion and community.
