All-Ukrainian Makotokai Karate Sports Events

Kyiv, Ukraine — 13–14 June 2026

On 13–14 June 2026, the National Association of Makotokai Karate of Ukraine held a series of All-Ukrainian sports events at the Kyiv branch of the Association.

The program included:

training camp in full-contact martial arts;

Makotokai Karate MKIA grading examination;

closed interregional Makotokai Karate tournament in the direction of Makotokai Contact Wrestling, for male and female athletes across relevant age groups and weight categories.

The organizational, educational-methodical and examination work was conducted by:

Hanshi Igor Levitsky, 7th Dan MKIA — President of the National Association of Makotokai Karate of Ukraine, Chief Coordinator of the events;

Sensei Oleksandr Korolyov, 4th Dan MKIA — First Vice-President of the Association, Head of the Organizing Committee and Chief Referee of the tournament;

Sempai Jasmin Baisoyu, 2nd Dan MKIA — Head of the Administrative Corps and Head of the Press Secretariat;

Sempai Nelli Moskalenko, 1st Dan MKIA — Assistant to the Head of the Kyiv branch of the Association.

The All-Ukrainian Makotokai Karate events were held with the support and assistance of:

the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura”;

the Special Unit “Aratta” of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine;

the Resistance Movement of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A short demonstration from our Chi Sao & Tui Shou lesson at DOJO BRUGGE.

We worked on soft-style partner principles inside Makotokai Karate: contact sensitivity, balance, reaction, timing and close-range control.

Soft means attentive, adaptive and controlled.
