KO Fight Studio

On behalf of KO Fight Studio and WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh, we honor the life and memory of 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝘂𝘇𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗱𝗮 (9th Dan), Chief Advisor to the IKO Kyokushinkaikan, who passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 86.

As one of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama’s original students from the 1950s, Shihan Goda dedicated his entire life to teaching, guiding, and preserving the spirit of Kyokushin. His legacy will forever inspire martial artists across all factions and generations.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, students, and the global karate community.

অন্যায় ও বৈষম্যের বিরুদ্ধে আত্মত্যাগ, অদম্য সাহস এবং তরুণ প্রজন্মের যে একতা জুলাই বিপ্লবে বাংলাদেশকে নতুন ভোর দেখিয়েছিল—তারই চেতনায় আমরা স্মরণ করি এই ঐতিহাসিক দিনটিকে।

কিওকুশিন কারাতের মূল দর্শন হলো প্রতিকূলতার মুখে দাঁড়িয়ে কখনোই হার না মানা। জুলাইয়ের বীর শহীদ ও আন্দোলনকারীদের সেই অবিচল আত্মত্যাগ ও বীরত্ব আমাদের হৃদয়ে চিরজাগরুক থাকবে।

ছাত্র-জনতার এই জাগরণ আমাদের শেখায়—ন্যায়ের পথে একতাবদ্ধ শক্তিকে কখনোই দমন করা যায় না।

𝗢𝗦𝗨. 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗠: 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗛𝗔𝗡 𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗦𝗨𝗢 𝗥𝗢𝗬𝗔𝗠𝗔 (𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟴 – 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲)

It is with profound sadness that the global Karate community mourns the passing of 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘂𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗮, founder of Kyokushin-kan International and a legendary figure in the history of full-contact Budo Karate.

Shihan Royama began his journey at the historic original Oyama Dojo in 1963 as a direct student of 𝗦𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘂 𝗢𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗮. Over six decades, he came to embody the true spirit of Kyokushin—winning the 5th All-Japan Tournament in 1973, finishing runner-up in the historic 1st World Open Tournament in 1975, and forever changing full-contact fighting through his mastery of the low kick (gedan mawashi geri).

Beyond his competition record, Shihan Royama devoted his life to preserving the traditional Budo roots of Kyokushin, integrating elements of Taikiken and classical Budo into his practice, and guiding thousands of practitioners around the world through Kyokushin-kan.

On behalf of WKO Shinkyokushinkai Bangladesh and KO Fight Studio, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, his students, and the members of Kyokushin-kan worldwide. His dedication to Budo Karate will continue to inspire generations of karateka to come.
