The Uttara Club is one of the latest of the clubs that have come up in Dhaka and by now has its own premises on nearly 1.5 acres of land in Sector # 1 of Uttara, with 1376 members (including 48 Foreign National Members). When Uttara had developed into a fairly populated community, with almost all the amenities of urban neighbourhood, people were thinking seriously of setting up a private club. In
February of 1992, a few residents of Uttara met at House no 14 of Sector 7 of Uttara to discuss about the formation of a club styled 'Uttara Club Limited'. Those enthusiastic persons formed a committee for taking necessary steps to set up the Club. This Committee took various steps to incorporate the Club, like rental of temporary accommodations and arranging various facilities for the Club's own land. On 20th March 1992, in a meeting attended by 33 persons formed the first Executive Committee of the Club with Mr. Current Executive Commitee of 2013:
