হাঙ্গেরির বুদাপেস্ট শহরে গতকাল (রোববার) হতে ভেজেরকেপজো সামার ২০২৬ গ্র্যান্ড মাস্টার দাবা প্রতিযোগিতার খেলা শুরু হয়েছে ।

বাংলাদেশ আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার মনন রেজা নীড় আজ (সোমবার) সকালে অনুষ্ঠিত দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডের খেলায় বেলজিয়ামের গ্র্যান্ড মাস্টার ইগর গ্লেককে পরাজিত করেছেন। আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার নীড় সাদা ঘুঁটি নিয়ে খেলে গ্র্যান্ড মাস্টার গ্লেকের বিরুদ্ধে জয়ী হন।

এর আগে গতকাল (রোববার) অনুষ্ঠিত প্রথম রাউন্ডের খেলায় আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার নীড় ভারতের ফিদে মাস্টার জয়ন্ত রাউত বৈভবকে পরাজিত করেন।

দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডের খেলা শেষে দুই খেলায় পূর্ণ ২ পয়েন্ট পেয়ে পয়েন্ট তালিকায় শীর্ষে রয়েছেন। রাউন্ড রবিন লিগ পদ্ধতির এ ইভেন্টে বাংলাদেশ, বেলজিয়াম, হাঙ্গেরি, ভারত, নেদারল্যান্ড, সার্বিয়া ও চাইনজ তাইপের ৩ জন গ্র্যান্ড মাস্টার, ৫ জন আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার, ২ জন ফিদে মাস্টারসহ মোট ১০ জন খেলোয়াড় অংশ নিচ্ছেন।

Vezerkepzo Summer 2026 GM Tournament

IM Monon Reza Neer Maintains Perfect Start at Vezerkepzo Summer 2026 GM Tournament which is commenced yesterday (Sunday) in Budapest, Hungary.

In the second round game played this morning (Monday) local time, IM Manon Reja Neer defeated Grandmaster Igor Glek of Belgian. The Bangladeshi International Master Neer played with the white pieces and produced an impressive performance to overcome the experienced Grandmaster Glek.

IM Neer had also won his opening-round game on Sunday, defeating India's FIDE Master Vaibhav Jayant Raut.

With two victories from two games, IM Manon Reja Neer has a perfect score of 2 points and is currently at the top of the standings after the second round.

The 10-player round-robin tournament has attracted players from Bangladesh, Belgium, Hungary, India, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Chinese Taipei including three Grandmasters, five International Masters, and two FIDE Masters.

ছয় পয়েন্ট পেয়ে ফিদে মাস্টার সৈয়দ মাহফুজুর রহমান অপরাজিত রানার-আপ হয়েছেন। সাড়ে পঁাচ পয়েন্ট করে নিয়ে টাইব্রেকিং পদ্ধতিতে সায়মন সিদ্দিকুর রহমান তৃতীয়, ক্যান্ডিডেট মাস্টার সোহেল চৌধুরী চুতর্থ, রুবেল হোসেন পঞ্চম, কাজী সাইফ ষষ্ঠ ও ফিরোজ আহমেদ সপ্তম স্থান লাভ করেন।

পাঁচ পয়েন্ট করে নিয়ে টাইব্রেকিংয়ে মোঃ মনিরুজ্জামান মাসুদ অষ্টম, শতদ্রু শোভন দে নবম ও জাবেদ আল আজাদ দশম স্থান লাভ করেন। ৭ রাউন্ড সুইস-লিগ পদ্ধতির এ প্রতিযোগিতায় ৭২ জন খেলোয়াড় অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

সকালে দিন ব্যাপী এ ফিদে র‌্যাপিড দাবার উদ্বোধন করেন কুমিল্লা জেলা ক্রীড়া কর্মকর্তা বখতিয়ার হোসেন প্রতিযোগিতায় উদ্বোধন করেন।

বিকালে খেলা শেষে কুমিল্লা জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সদস্য-সচিব ইমদাদুল হক ইমদু বিজয়ীদের মধ্যে পুরস্কার বিতরণ করেন।

Cumilla Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament

Farhadur Imam emerged as the unbeaten champion of the Cumilla Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament, organised by Neaamul Chess Academy in USA. He clinched the title with an impressive 6½ points from 7 games. FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman finished as the unbeaten runner-up with 6 points.

Scoring 5½ points each, Simon Siddiqur Rahman secured third place on tie-break, followed by Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury in fourth, Rubel Hossen in fifth, Kazi Sayif in sixth, and Firoz Ahmed in seventh.

With 5 points each, Md. Moniruzzaman Masud claimed eighth place on tie-break, while Shatadru Shovon De and Javed Al Azad finished ninth and tenth respectively. A total of 72 players participated in the 7-round Swiss League tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated in the morning by Bakhtiar Hossain, District Sports Officer of Cumilla. Following the conclusion of play in the afternoon, the prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Imdadul Haque Imdu, Member Secretary of the Cumilla District Sports Association, who presented prizes to the winners.

In yesterday’s (Monday) third-round encounter, IM Neer, playing with the white pieces, secured an impressive victory over the Ukrainian Grandmaster Valeriy. Earlier, he drew his first-round game against Ukrainian International Master Nataliya Buksa and his second-round game against Hungarian International Master Bence Pribelszky. At the end of the third round, IM Manon Reja Neer is jointly leading the standings with IM Nataliya Buksa, having scored 2 points from 3 games.

Bangladesh Chess Federation Holds Prayer on the Second Death Anniversary of Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman

The Bangladesh Chess Federation today (Sunday) organised a Milad and doa Mahfeel after Asor prayers at the Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room to commemorate the second death anniversary of the late Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman.

Among those in attendance were Bangladesh Chess Federation President Syed Sujauddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary Lokeman Hossain Mollah, Ad-hoc Committee Members Aminul Islam and Md. Arifuzzaman Arif, International Arbiter Md. Haroon Or Rashid, senior player Jean-Nesar Osman, FIDE Master Md. Saif Uddin, Candidate Master Md. Shawket Bin Osman Shon, General Secretary of ACP Bangladesh, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, as well as chess players, organisers, arbiters, and members of the chess community.

The participants offered special prayers for the eternal peace and forgiveness of the departed soul of Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, remembering his remarkable contributions to Bangladesh chess and his lasting legacy in the country's sporting history.

The Bangladesh Chess Federation also announced that it will organise the Grandmaster Zia Memorial International Grandmasters Chess Tournament later this year in honor of the late Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, celebrating his outstanding achievements and enduring contribution to the development of chess in Bangladesh.

On the occasion of the second death anniversary of Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, a prayer (Doa Mahfeel) will be held tomorrow, Sunday, 5 July 2026, after the Asor prayer at the Bangladesh Chess Federation's Hall-Room.

The Bangladesh Chess Federation has requested all chess players, organisers, arbiters, and well-wishers of chess to attend the Doa Mahfeel and offer prayers for the eternal peace and forgiveness of the departed late Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman.

To honour the memory and legacy of the late Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman, the Bangladesh Chess Federation will also organise the Grandmaster Zia Memorial Chess Tournament later this year. The event will be staged as an international Grandmasters' chess tournament, bringing together leading players in tribute to one of Bangladesh's greatest chess icons.

সাত পয়েন্ট করে নিয়ে রাশিয়ার আর্তেম এরাখিন চ্যাম্পিয়ন এবং তার স্ব-দেশী আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার জাউর তেকেয়েভ রানার-আপ হন।

১৬ টি দেশের ৬ জন গ্র্যান্ড মাস্টার, ৯ জন আন্তর্জাতিক মাস্টার ও ৫ জন ফিদে মাস্টারসেহ ৫২ জন খেলোয়াড় এ ইভেন্টে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। ফিদে মাস্টার তাহসিন ৫০০ ইউরো আর্থ পুরস্কার লাভ করেন।

Vojvodina Open 2026, Category A of the 4th International Chess Festival

Bangladesh's FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia delivered an impressive performance at the Vojvodina Open 2026, Category A, finishing fifth in the final standings of the tournament held in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia.

FM Tahsin scored 6 points from 9 rounds and finished in a tie for third place. However, he was ultimately ranked fifth after the tie-break system was applied.

In the ninth and final round game played on today (Thursday), FM Tahsin held Polish Grandmaster Jacek Stopa to a draw. Earlier, in the eighth round game played on Wednesday night (Bangladesh time), he also drew with India's Candidate Master Kushagra Jain.

Russia's Artem Erokhin claimed the championship title with 7 points, while his compatriot, International Master Zaur Tekeyev, secured the runner-up position with the same score on tie-break.

Category A of the Vojvodina Open 2026 featured a strong field of 52 players from 16 countries, including six Grandmasters, nine International Masters and five FIDE Masters.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia was awarded a cash prize of €500.
