Registrations are now open for MarXcellence 2026, the flagship digital marketing case competition organized by the Marketing and International Business Club (MIBC) of North South University.
The competition is presented by Dhaka Bank PLC, co-sponsored by Transcom Group, and powered by Vatika Naturals.
MarXcellence 2026 is open to undergraduate students from all academic disciplines in Bangladesh and abroad. Participants may compete in teams of two to four members, and cross-university teams are welcome.
Designed to provide students with hands-on experience in solving contemporary digital marketing challenges, the competition features a three-round format.
The first round, The Xploration Phase, requires participants to solve a real-world digital marketing case online. Selected teams will advance to The Xpression Studio, where they will produce an online video commercial and develop a comprehensive marketing strategy. The competition will conclude with The Xcellence Showdown, in which finalist teams will present their solutions before a panel of industry experts and academics.
The opening workshop is scheduled to be held at North South University on 10 July 2026, with a hybrid participation option available for international teams.
MarXcellence 2026 offers a total prize pool of Tk 5.2 lakh. The champion team will receive Tk 2.25 lakh, while the first and second runners-up will receive Tk 1.5 lakh and Tk 1 lakh, respectively. The remaining three finalist teams will each receive Tk 15,000.
The competition is being organized under the leadership of the North South University Marketing and International Business Club Executive Body 2025–26. "The primary objective of this initiative is to channel young people's enthusiasm for the World Cup into a positive and intellectually engaging platform," said Irtifa Zaman, a lecturer in the Department of History and Philosophy and one of the event coordinators.
Tasnim Ima, a lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Political Science, said the competition would encourage students to participate in knowledge-based co-curricular activities while giving them an opportunity to experience NSU's academic environment and modern campus facilities.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of BDT 50,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive BDT 30,000 and BDT 20,000, respectively. Every participant will also be awarded a certificate of participation.
Raisul Islam, a student of the Department of Media, Communication, and Journalism at NSU, said the event would provide a valuable platform for networking, learning, and healthy competition, allowing participants to build new connections and exchange ideas.
