Böyük Qafqaz yolunun salınması üzrə
işlərin əsas planı
1. Məqsəd və tapşırıqlar
Böyük Qafqaz yolunun salınması aşağıdakı məqsədləri daşıyır:
• Azərbaycanda idman turizminin təbliğatı
• Azərbaycanın zəngin tarixi-mədəni irsi və təbiəti ilə tanışlıq
• Yeni aktiv idman və istirahət növlərininin inkişafı və təbliği
• Xarici turistlər üçün çöl səyahət (outdoor) istiqamətinin inkişafı
• Qafqaz ölkələrini və müxtəlif xalqların idman və turistik təşəbbüslərini birləşdirən beynəlxalq layihənin yaradılması
• Yolun coğrafi ərazilərinə yaxın olan yerli kiçik biznesin inkişafına dəstək
2. Layihənin coğrafi mövqeyi
Baş Qafqaz Silsiləsi (bundan sonra BQS)– Qafqazın ən böyük dağ massividir. Ətəyi Abşeron yarmadasının qərb hissəsindən yer alaraq (İlxıdağ 328m.), Qara dənizin sahillərinə qədər uzanan silsilə Anapa şəhərində sona çatır. Müxtəlif mənbələrin məlmatına görə qolları nəzərə almadan uzunluğu 1100km.-dən 1500 km. -dək uzanır. Ən yüksək zirvəsi Elbrus (5642m.), Azərbaycanda isə Bazardüzü (4466m.) zirvəsidir. BQS-nin ən əsas xüsusiyyəti nə cənubdan, nə də şimaldan heç bir çay suları ilə kəsişməməsidir. Layihənin ilkin pilot planı Azərbaycan Respublikasında icra olunacaq. Yol İlxıdağ zirvəsindən başlanğıc götürərək Abşeron, Qobustan, Xızı, Siyəzən, Şabran, Quba, Qusar, Şamaxı, İsmayıllı, Qəbələ, Şəki, Qax, Zaqatala və Balakən rayonlarını əhatə edəcək. Marşrutun salınması yaxınlıqdakı mədəni-tarixi abidələrin yola qoşulmasını nəzərdə tutur. İlkin hesablamalara görə əsas yolun uzunluğu 500-600 kilometr olacaq.

Project regulations on the laying and arrangement
Basic work plan
1. Targets and goals
The creation of the Greater Caucasus Trail has the following goals:
• Promotion of sports tourism in Azerbaijan
• Acquaintance and promotion of the richness of the historical and cultural heritage and nature of Azerbaijan
• Outdoor sports development and promotion
• Popularization of the destination for foreign tourists interested in outdoor travel
• International sports project establishment covering the Caucasian countries and the involvement of various ethnic groups into the sports and tourism initiative
• support for local small businesses that are adjacent to the geography of the trail
2. Project geography
Greater Caucasus mountain range (hereinafter GCR) is the largest mountain range in the Caucasus. Its foothills are located to the west of the Absheron Peninsula (Ilkhidag Mountain, 328 m), from where the ridge runs to the Black Sea coast, ending in the area of Anapa. The ridge passes through three countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia. The length of the GCR in various sources is designated from 1100 to 1500 km, excluding the spurs. The highest summit of the GCR is Elbrus (5642 m), and the highest summit in Azerbaijan is Bazarduzi (4466 m). One of the most important features of GCR is the fact that not a single river crosses the ridge - neither from the south, nor from the north. The first pilot section of the trail is planned to be laid on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The starting point of the trail is the Ilkhidag peak. The trail will cover Absheron, Gobustan, Khizi, Siyazan, Shabran, Guba, Gusar, Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Gabala, Sheki, Gakh, Zagatala and Balakan regions. The route is planned to include as much as possible historical, cultural, natural and tourist sites nearby. According to primary estimates, the length of the main trail is 500-600 km.
3. Trail features
Greater Caucasus Trail is designed for tourists of various levels of training and interests. The routes are supposed to be laid taking into account three criteria: historical and cultural sites, panoramic points and sports sections of the trail. It is planned to develop trails of three levels of difficulty, which will be marked in three colors - blue, red and green in accordance with the colors of the national flag. Simple level - Green trail - presupposes the presence of simple walking or cycling sections with a set of historical, ethnographic and natural tourist sites. Intermediate level - Blue trail - a complicated version of the green trail with the inclusion of large differences in altitude, overcoming various forms of relief, requiring knowledge of the basics of individual self-belaying technique to move along mountainous terrain. Advanced level - Red Trail - is designed for sports-trained travelers. This trail traverses the GCR and spurs.
4. Trail development steps
• Initiative group setup
• Development and approval of the necessary documentation for the trail
• Informing and coordinating the project with local authorities, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Education, State Border Service of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Youth and Sports, State Tourism Agency and other state bodies
