The PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championships 2026 continue to deliver memorable moments for Team Aruba!

Our 15–17 Mixed 4×100m Medley Relay Team of Luis-Mario Arends, Gideon Flanegien, Genisis Lacle, and Xia Rodriguez delivered an outstanding performance by setting a new Aruba National Age Group Record! 🇦🇼💥

The quartet combined four exceptional swims to lower the previous national mark by more than two seconds, adding another remarkable achievement to Aruba's championship campaign.

National records are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our athletes, and this performance is one they can be incredibly proud of.

Congratulations to Luis-Mario, Gideon, Genisis, and Xia on this fantastic accomplishment. Keep making Aruba proud! 💙💛❤

🏊‍♂️🥉🇦🇼 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 – 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗔𝗺 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀!

Team Aruba couldn't have asked for a better start to the championships!

⭐ Leandro Santiesteban delivered an outstanding performance in the 100m Breaststroke. After qualifying for the evening finals, he swam a massive personal best - 1.09.72 - and captured the 🥉 Bronze Medal, earning Aruba its first medal of the championships. Congratulations, Leandro! What an incredible achievement! 💙💛❤️

Our 13–15 Boys Relay Team also impressed with a fantastic performance. Ayden Anthony, Zayron Werleman, Leandro Santiesteban, and Jaythan Winterdal qualified for the finals and raced to an excellent 6th-place finish against some of the strongest teams in the Americas.

A fantastic first day filled with great performances, personal achievements, and a medal for Team Aruba. We can't wait to see what the rest of the championship has in store.

The countdown is almost over! Today, Team Aruba proudly took part in the official Opening Ceremony of the PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championships 2026 in Ibagué, Colombia.

After months of hard work, dedication, and preparation, the moment they've been training for has finally arrived. Tomorrow, our first swimmers will step onto the starting blocks to proudly represent Aruba against the best athletes from across the Americas.

We are incredibly proud of every member of our delegation and wish all our swimmers the very best of luck as they begin their championship journey.
