The coffeeroom of the Protestant Church, in Oranjestad, is a venue where chessplayers can play chess for pleasure, every Sunday from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
No chess clocks are used and notation of the games is not mandatory.

Sunday, July 26, 2026:
Today was another special Sunday of chess in the coffee room.
Lothar Irausquin established a new record of 8 games won on one Sunday.
He is ready to play chess and will play anyone.
Guillermo Londoño, a Columbian chess player, enjoying his vacation on Aruba, came to play chess for pleasure.
We were very happy with his visit and the games he played.
Next Sunday Guillermo will play anyone who wants to play with him.
Randy Tromp, director of the Aruba Chess Academy, was also present to play some chess for pleasure.
Next Sunday will be the 1st Sunday of August and the doors of the coffeeroom @ the Protestant Church in Oranjestad, will be open for chess, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
