💚 Just a friendly reminder that our Open Day is happening this Saturday, 29th August, from 10:00am to 12:00pm!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out our new home at Geebung State School Pool, this is the perfect opportunity. Come and see the facilities that will host our new Tuesday night Club Nights!

What’s happening on Saturday:

This event is open to all ages and abilities, so bring your swimmers and join us for some pre‑season fun! 🐍✨

⚡️ MEDAL SWEEP AT THE ALBANY CREEK TRANSITION MEET! ⚡️

Hey Eels family! 💚

What a day in the pool! A huge congratulations to our competitive swimmers who smashed it today at the 2026 Albany Creek Long Course Transition Meet! 🏊‍♂️💥

We had three talented swimmers compete, and every single one of them walked away with a spot on the podium!🥇🥈🥉

Results:
🥇 Lilly Keep: 1st Place – 200m Freestyle
🥈 Levi Crawford: 2nd Place – 100m Breaststroke
🥇🥉 Asher Crawford: 1st Place – 50m Butterfly & 3rd Place – 50m Backstroke

A big shoutout and thank you to Albany Creek Swim Club for hosting a fantastic and seamless meet! 🙌✨

As mentioned in our recent email, we’re super excited to announce that we are moving to Geebung State School Pool! With our move comes a brand-new schedule with our Club Nights now taking place on Tuesday evenings.

To celebrate the move and kick off the new season, we’re hosting an Open Day! It’s the perfect opportunity to check out our new facilities, meet the team, and have some fun in the water.

Open Day Details:
📅 When: Saturday 29th August | 10:00am – 12:00pm
📍 Where: Geebung State School Pool
🌭 What’s On: Free BBQ, awesome prizes, plus fun relays and pool games!
👥 Who: All ages and skill levels welcome!

We Need Your Help! (Volunteers Wanted)
Our club runs on the support of our amazing community. We’re currently looking for volunteers to fill a few key roles for the upcoming season:

- Canteen Co-ordinator

Hey Eels family! 💚 We could not be prouder today!

A massive congratulations to our very own former Electric Eel, Hannah Casey, for her GOLD winning effort at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow! 🥇✨

Hannah was part of the incredible Australian team that took first place in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay. What an absolute superstar!

From the Eels pool to the international stage, you’ve inspired us all, Hannah. Congratulations from everyone back at the club! 🐍🏊‍♂️

A massive shoutout to all past and present Electric Eels who competed at the 2026 Queensland Representative School Sport (QRSS) Swimming Championships this week. Your hard work, determination, and team spirit continue to inspire our whole club.

And we have BIG news…

🏆 THE EELS HAVE A NEW QUEENSLAND CHAMPION!🏆
Tommy stormed home to win GOLD in the 100m Breaststroke, plus added a BRONZE in the 50m Butterfly and 2 SILVER medals in the relays. What an incredible achievement.

Huge congratulations to Tommy and Coach Gary — an outstanding team effort that reflects dedication, belief, and countless hours in the pool.

We’re so proud of every Eel who represented their school and our club on the state stage. Keep chasing those goals, Eels. The future is bright. 💙💛

🏆 Electric Eels Trophy Presentation Day – RSVP Now!🎉

We’re wrapping up the season with a celebration for all club members and every swimmer who’s competed in at least one Club Night will receive a trophy!

📅 Sunday, 29 March
📍 Chermside Bowls Club (468 Rode Rd, Chermside)
🕑 Festivities kick off from 2:15pm
🍰 Afternoon tea and nibbles provided

👉 Please RSVP by this Sunday to help us finalise catering and seating — even if you’re unable to attend.

📣 EESC Club Championships – Now Live in SwimClub App!🏊‍♂️

The Electric Eels Club Championships are happening this Friday, 20 March from 6pm at Zillmere State School pool.

✅ The meet is visible in the SwimClub App.
✅ Qualified swimmers are automatically entered into the events they’ve qualified for.

🔍 Can’t see your swimmer in the meet?
This means they have not qualified under the eligibility criteria outlined in the Club Handbook (pages 10–12). If you believe your swimmer should be eligible, please contact the Race Secretary promptly at [email protected].

❌ Unable to attend?
If your swimmer has qualified but cannot attend, please notify the Race Secretary so they can be removed from the meet.

🏆 Points Trophy Reminder
Every swimmer who has registered and competed in at least one Club Night will receive a points trophy at Trophy Presentation Day – regardless of Club Championships qualification.
