Our 4th Grade boys fall just short against the Red Heavies in their Semi Final, bringing their 2026 campaign to an end.

A season to be bloody proud of. The boys fought their way deep into finals footy and left everything out there right until the final whistle.

Not the ending we wanted, but plenty to hold your heads high about. Proud of the boys and the season they’ve put together. 🖤🤍

Vale Graham Herlihy — A life of giving & passion

It is with profound sadness we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Graham Herlihy — beloved husband of Loreen, father to Mitch and Alysse and devoted grandfather. A deeply cherished friend and highly influential mentor he will be deeply missed

Graham helped people become better than they knew they could be. That was his greatest gift to us all.

Graham lived a life defined by family, a passion for teaching, community and an unshakeable love of the two rugby codes. Graham came to the fifteen-a-side game later in life: yet over eighteen years in union he shaped players and coaches from schoolboy first XVs to Premier Grade & Super Rugby from the Gold Coast to Brisbane's south, and from Toowoomba to Tokyo.

An international start
After a highly successful career in rugby league, Graham began his union coaching journey as a Defence Coach in Japan (2002–2005). Back in Australia Graham became highly regarded across rugby union with appointments that span well beyond one school, one club and one sporting community: Brisbane Easts, Sunnybank, Gold Coast Breakers, as well as East Coast Aces, Downlands College, The Southport School and Griffith University College Knights and Queensland Rugby

At TSS Graham was instrumental in one of the most successful chapters in modern GPS rugby. Under his defensive framework, TSS claimed GPS Premierships in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2017.

Even more telling is the roll call of young men he helped develop into Wallabies and Super Rugby professionals. There are many young men acknowledging his help and thinking of his family today.

Souths Rugby, a final home for rugby union, Brisbane
Graham joined Souths in 2022 as Assistant and Defence Coach of Premier Grade, and worked consistently and tirelessly for the Premier side until 2025. His experience, defensive philosophy and sense of humour were invaluable however it was his unmistakable love of developing players as men first, footballers second that will stand the test of time.

Long after boots have been hung up his influence on young men at our club will continue.

The measure of the man
Graham mentored quietly, generously, and without ego. He made every club he touched stronger, and every person he coached better. His focus in the classroom and on the pitch were built on standards, structure, humour and how to think under pressure.

Rugby union in Queensland — and Australian rugby more broadly — is poorer today for his loss, and immeasurably richer for having known him. Graham’s legacy will live on in his family and through the hundreds of young men who are better people for having the privilege of knowing him.

In Rugby League, the accolades have started and will continue to come, his contribution to that sport was material and many of today’s rugby league legends are mourning the loss of a coach, mentor and mate.
