We are incredibly excited to welcome The Sebel Yarrawonga as a Silver Sponsor of the Yarra-Mul Lakers Rep Basketball Program for the 2026/27 season.
The Sebel Yarrawonga has shown a genuine commitment to investing in our local community by supporting young athletes both on and off the court. As part of their partnership, they will also be providing scholarships for eligible Lakers players, helping ensure that financial barriers don't stand in the way of children participating in representative basketball.

Round 11 has just opened on Sept 15th, 2026 and will close on October 13th 2026

👉You can use this voucher to pay for up to $200 of your child’s basketball fees - can be used up to the expiry date of 27th April 2027 *If eligible
👉Apply NOW, as there are a limited number of vouchers and it will close once the allocation is exhausted
👉To use for basketball, select “Basketball Victoria” (Provider number/code 2951096) when applying. You then use the voucher code given to you on our PlayHQ registration form when registering for a basketball program
👉Voucher expiry date : 27th April 2027.
👉 PARENTS MAY CHOSE TO USE THIS TOWARDS OUR DOMESTIC/AUSSIE HOOPS FEES NEXT YEAR FOR SEASON 1 2027, as registration in Jan/Feb will be before the expiry date.

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program helps eligible families get their kids involved in organised sport and active recreation activities. Eligible children may receive up to $200 to cover the costs for membership and registration fees.
IMPORTANT:
Round 11 is a limited round and once the allocated vouchers have been used the round will close. You are encouraged to apply for their reimbursement or voucher as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.

-8 week Round Robin Comp starting October 6th/8th and finishes 24th/26th November.

- Womens - Tuesday nights from 8.15pm for first 4 wks, then earlier games from 6.30pm for the last 4 weeks. ONE exception - During Melbourne Cup week, the women's games will be played on a Wednesday night.

-Mens - Thursday night from 6.30pm

-Register Individually (you will be placed in a team) or Part of a Team (Teams of 7/8 players required). Indicate on rego form.

- Fees $81.62 YMBA Player Fee + $48 Basketball Victoria Insurance Fee (If due - valid for 12 months) + $5.50 Basketball Australia Game Development annual levy (If due - valid for 12 months).

-Team singlets supplied. Players to wear black shorts with no pockets.

A big congratulations to our two Junior Referees, 𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙠𝙨 and 𝙇𝙖𝙬𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙆𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙮, who graduated from our Beginner Referee Program last week.

They have officially stepped up and passed the test and are now officially BV C1 referees.

It's fantastic to see our young members taking on new Challenges and Developing their skills. Becoming a Referee takes confidence, commitment and hard work...and these two have put in the effort.

What an awesome achievement and a fantastic recognition of your hard work, commitment and talent on the basketball court.

The Gold Nugget Camp will be held at Selkirk Stadium, Ballarat, on Wednesday 23 September, from 9:30am–4:00pm.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Amelia has officially passed her A Grade Referee accreditation!

This is a HUGE achievement and one that takes plenty of hard work, commitment and knowledge of the game.
To earn her A Grade badge, Amelia travelled to Wodonga to complete the course across four sessions, where she was assessed on the highest level of games in Wodonga.
To pass, Amelia needed to achieve over 90% accuracy on her calls, while also completing a comprehensive theory component covering advanced refereeing techniques, before finishing with a theory exam.

What an incredible accomplishment...Your dedication to developing your refereeing and continuing to challenge yourself is something to be incredibly proud of.
We can’t wait to see where your refereeing journey takes you next.

We are excited to announce that YMBA will have the opportunity to enter Boys and Girls teams in the U10 age group at a few local tournaments throughout the rep season.

To be eligible to play, the athlete must be born in 2018 and must be registered with YMBA and playing in the current U10s domestic comp.

At this stage, the tournaments they will be attending are:
🟢 Wangaratta: 10 -11 October 2026
🔴 Shepparton: 5 - 6 Decmber 2026
🟡 Mansfield: Date to be confirmed (usually in March)
