Congratulations to the 344 finishers and a big THANK YOU to the 21 volunteers who made Wynnum parkrun 669 happen today👍
Our hi-vis heroes were... Alan BURRELL, Alexandra LOWSON, Anita CUMMINGS, Ben POWELL, Coral REED, Danny BEAUCHAMP, Denise SWEENEY, Harriet CAMPBELL, John ROYCE, Joy STUCKEY, Kate SONGHURST, Mary BLOWERS, Natalie HALPIN, Nicolas PETERS, Peter CUMMINGS, Robert GRAY, Rod WESTERHUIS, Roisin BURRELL, Ronald ITZSTEIN, Scott ELLIOTT, Sean O'NEILL with additional assistance from Amanda, Kate and Al :)
The first finishers were Leo Scanlon in a time of 17:25 (new PB) and Viv Broadbent in 19:12. Our top age grade was Jody Mcgovern with 83.76%.
Today we welcomed 9 people for their first time ever to a parkrun and 42 visitors from as far away as New Zealand and Brisbane's Northern suburbs! You are all very welcome here and we hope to see you again soon.
Our milestones today were Hayley Hodson (100) - see photo below, Armin Kavian (50), Sonia O'donnell (50), Paul Howlett (50) and Emma Pryor (25) - congratulations to you all.
I will upload photos and video later.
Just a date reminder we have our Annual Octogenerian parkrun on 22nd August, where all are welcome, but we especially recognise and celebate our more senior parkrunners.
We've handed over the RD jacket to Sherry who will look after parkrun for the next two weeks. We'll see you again soon.
PS don't forget if anyone wants to find out more about volunteering as a Run Director at Wynnum please come and talk to one of the Run Directors or drop us an email. It is not as daunting as you may think and you will get training and support.

It's been a week of ups and downs over the last week in the world of spectator sports ⚽️ 🏉🏸 🏏🏆🥲
But we are looking forward to our weekly walk, jog, run or volunteer at the 669th Wynnum parkrun on Saturday morning 😀
We still have some roles available if you want to volunteer:

- Marshal at Wading Pool

If Saturday is your first time at parkrun or first visit to Wynnum parkrun then please attend our friendly first time welcome at 6.50am. For everyone else please attend our mandatory safety briefing at 6.55am so we are all ready to parkrun by 7am.
Just a reminder that everyone must share the paths fairly, always keep left and give space to your fellow path users. Should you accidentally come into contact with anyone then stop, check they are ok and apologise.

The first finishers were Lachlan How in a time of 15:35 and Emma Stevenson in 22:46. Our top age grader was Werner Botha with 83.74%.
Today we welcomed 3 first timers to parkrun and 26 visitors. Our milestones today were Leanne Waretini (100), Roberto Lopez Vega (50), Netra Gurung (50), Michael Collins (25), Tania Marti (25), Kayla Waldock (10) and Annabelle Thiele (10)
I will upload photos and video after I return from tomorrow's Gold Coast Marathon.

We know a lot of people are down the Gold Coast already for the GC Marathon festival🥇(good luck and hope to see you do there on Sunday). Then others are going to be up very early to cheer on the Socceroos ⚽️. The rest of us will be looking forward to our walk, jog, run or volunteer at tomorrow's 668th Wynnum parkrun 😀

We are half way through the week already and looking forward to Saturday’s twin highlights with the Socceroos starting at 4am and Wynnum parkrun at 7am. You can safely do both this week 😀

Our first finishers were Lincoln James in a time of 17:27 and Kate Andrews in 20:13. Our top age grade was Peter Reeves with 84.5%.
Thanks to our crack team of pacers ranging from 20 to 40 minutes who assisted 37 new PBs :)
Today we welcomed 7 first timers to parkrun and 31 visitors, furthest called out was from Kirra. Two people celebrated 100 parkrun finishes: Wendy Hodges and Paul Andrew, and we had Hennie, one of longest serving Wynnum volunteers (since just after we started in 20212) who reached his 100th volunteer milestone today.
Many thanks to our scanner Coral who also managed to take some photos and video which we will upload later. Coral has also volunteered to take photos next week. If anyone wants to be our photographer for future weeks, or any other role then do send us a message - thank you.
