Another familiar face at Wally, bringing experience, energy and a genuine love for the club - Pixie Stott is our morning tea and Christmas rally organiser.
🐴 Horses: Dusty (Stock Horse x Quarter Horse) and Halle (Quarter Horse)
☕ Coffee order: Flat white
Favourite moment: A recent highlight was staying at Philippa’s beautiful place in Bridgetown and absolutely nailing a jumping course with fill. "I call it my ‘fill’ lesson - now I feel like I have the tools to get Dusty over scary jumps, instead of just hoping he will!"
Why the committee? "I love our club, keeping busy and helping others. I first joined Wally in 2002 when my daughter started Pony Club."
Fun fact: Pixie used to take the kids (and their friends!) out on a little boat she could launch herself, with Moore River being a firm favourite spot!

Carole Intriolo is another one of the team behind the scenes - from organising our Christmas rally to supporting Claire with merchandise, she’s always lending a hand!
🐴 Horses: Hayburn’n High Moon (aka Denny) and Destiny, now enjoying a very well-earned retirement at 27. Carole has owned Destiny since she was around two - giving her plenty of time to perfect her role as the resident “grumpy mare”… and she absolutely nails it! 😄
☕ Coffee order: Cappuccino
Favourite moment: "Being part of the winning quadrille team at the ARCA Challenge for the last two years - sorry Wally peeps, it was for one of my other clubs!" Safe to say there were plenty of laughs, great memories and lifelong friendships made along the way.
💬 Why the committee? "To be part of the club, give back and help make sure it’s still going strong well into the future."
🦜 Fun fact: Carole rescued a pink and grey galah named Larry after he turned up in her paddock with a damaged wing. He couldn’t be released… so now he lives in the house, runs the place, and Carole’s just there to pay the bills 😂

Today we’re catching up with Karen Nelson – Treasurer, Rally Coordinator & Pony Club Liaison!
Horse: Ricky – a 12-year-old Andalusian (who should be grey… but prefers a permanent dirt makeover! 😄)
Coffee order: Iced coffee
💬 “I love seeing everyone enjoying their riding at the club, being on the committee means I get to help make that happen.”
Favourite moment: A heartfelt cuddle from her 4-year-old grandson saying “I love you Grandma.” 💛
Fun fact: Since retiring after 45 years with Commonwealth Bank, Karen’s Facebook has turned into a travel blog full of her adventures and holidays! ✈️
Pretty sure Karen is also one of our longest serving club members! 🙌

Meet Moira Macaulay in 10 seconds! ☕
Horses: Tiaja Park Legolas (Lego), Everley Park Luna Eclipse (Chester) & Oakvalley Flowergirl (Bella).
Coffee order: Flat White (but secretly prefers an Iced Strawberry Matcha or Turmeric Chai!).
💬 “No hour of life is wasted spent in the saddle - and for me, nothing beats trail riding in Jarrahdale when it’s overcast with a light drizzle. That’s my happy place.”
Why the committee: Moira believes everyone should give back to their club - “If no one volunteers, there is no club.”
Fun fact: Moira loves eventing and previously competed up to 80cm - she’s now aiming to get back to 65cm with Lego… who is a bit of a weirdo and likes to touch everything and everyone! 😄
We’re so lucky to have Moira helping us out this year! 💛

Meet Vikki Lynn, another one of our fabulous committee members...
Horse: Joshua Brook Black Jack (Jax)
Coffee order: Cappuccino
💬 “My first cross country lesson in 2022 is still my favourite moment, I was nervous the whole time, but riding alongside Lisa Stoddart and Beck Morgan, watching their partnerships grow, and sharing plenty of laughs made it unforgettable. I may still be at 45cm, but I’m enjoying every step of the journey!”
Why the committee: What an amazing group of women!
Fun fact: Vikki completed a liberty course last year - and absolutely loved it!
We’re so lucky to have Vikki as part of the Wallangarra community 💛

Say hello to Grace Hitchens, another one of our awesome committee members bringing great vibes to Wally!
🐴 Horse: Mowgli (aka Mowgli Bear, Jakoma’s Junglebook)
☕ Coffee order: Oat flat white or oat latte
💫 Favourite moment: The 2024 ARCA Challenge hosted by Wally… "An absolute complete fluke that Mogsi and I managed to win the 45cm overall!"
💬 Why the committee? "I love the variety of people we have and how each person brings a different skill and talent to the table!"
🤔 Fun fact: Stay tuned… we’re still waiting on this one 😄

Next up, meet Kelly Kent, looking after our digital communications and website.
🐴 Horses: The Friesian duo - Noah (21 yrs) & Zephyr (6 yrs)
☕ Coffee order: Skinny cappuccino
✨ Favourite moment: The ARCA Spring Challenge in Kellerberrin stands out – the float convoy and the laughs. Coming back after a bad fall with so much support and encouragement from the Wally's and SJKARC crew …plus winning a bottle of vodka the night before, which may (or may not 😅) have been sampled before riding!
💬 Why the committee? “I’ve always tried to get involved in the sports I’ve been part of. Wally holds a special place, as my son used to be a PC member, being part of the committee is another way to give back and ensure Wally remains a welcoming and supportive club for others.
🌟 Fun fact: I am naturally blonde 💁♀️
Pic: Zephyr (L), Noah (R).

Next up, meet Meredith Kessell, our long-term Secretary!
🐴 Horse: Keiko (21-year-old bay TB)
☕ Coffee order: Mocha… or ideally a hot chocolate with caffeine 😄
✨ Favourite moment: ARCA - hard to top winning an ARCA Challenge several years ago!
💬 Why the committee? “I’ve always gotten a lot out of the ARC community, so this is how I give back and help ensure the club keeps running so more people can enjoy it in years to come.”
🌟 Fun fact: Meredith is only half Australian!
We’re so lucky to have Meredith helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Claire Hurst wears a few hats at our club, and we’re so lucky to have her working across membership, out-of-rally sessions and uniforms!
🐴 Horses: Blaze OTTSB (14 yrs), Comet (Drum, 4 yrs) & Charlie (Shetland, 13 yrs)
☕ Coffee order: Skinny flat white
✨ Favourite moment: Watching fellow Wally's kick their goals – nothing better!
💬 Why the committee? “I enjoy welcoming new members and bringing our members together for fun social activities outside of rallies.”
🌟 Fun fact: Thanks to some very alert horses, Claire once had to hide from a brown bear that came crashing through the arena while she was working as a camp counsellor in Massachusetts (Camp America, 1998!) 🐻😳 No people or horses were harmed… but it was a close call!
Claire is at the heart of keeping our club connected – from welcoming new members to organising the fun that happens off the horse as well.
