Everglades Country Club invites and welcomes all players, from beginners to the more adept golfer to play our well bunkered,challenging 18 hole golf course. Everglades is situated minutes from beautiful beaches, national parks and majestic waterways on the central coast all within 1 hour of Sydney and Newcastle. The course is well manicured, tree lined, tightly bunkered with strategically positioned water hazards providing an intermediary test of golf. The par 67 layout is pleasant to walk and hardly ever beaten. Regarded as one of the best wet weather layouts in the state boasting sand based fairways and well drained greens the course is rarely affected by inclement conditions.

Tired of watching your drive start left and end up two fairways right? ⛳️

Here's the thing: most slices aren't a swing speed problem. They're a path and face problem.

Try this on the range this week 👇

1️⃣ Check your grip. If you can't see at least two knuckles on your left hand at address (right handed golfers), your face is fighting you before you even move.

2️⃣ Feel like you're swinging out toward right field. Place a headcover just outside the ball and miss it on the way through. That one drill teaches your body what an in to out path actually feels like.

3️⃣ Let the arms release. A slice loves tension. Soften your grip pressure to about a 4 out of 10 and let the clubhead turn over naturally.

Do 20 slow reps before you swing hard. Speed without the correct path just curves the ball further into the trees 🌲😅

Most golfers lose more shots inside 100 metres than they do off the tee ⛳

And here's the kicker: it's often not your swing. It's your wedges.

A wedge that doesn't match your swing and your turf is quietly costing you strokes every single round. Here are the 3 things we get right in every wedge fitting 👇

1️⃣ BOUNCE 🏌️
This is the big one. If you take deep divots and play soft, lush turf, you need more bounce to stop the club digging. Sweep the ball off firm, tight lies? Lower bounce lets you get the leading edge under it cleanly. Wrong bounce equals chunks and thins, no matter how good your technique is.

2️⃣ GAPPING 📏
So many golfers have a 40 metre hole in their bag and don't even know it. Your pitching wedge, gap wedge, sand wedge and lob wedge should sit roughly 4 to 6 degrees apart so you always have a full, confident swing available. No more awkward half shots and guesswork.

3️⃣ LIE ANGLE AND SHAFT 🎯
Even a couple of degrees off and your face is pointing somewhere you never intended at impact. Add the right shaft weight and flex on top of that and you get better control of distance, spin and trajectory on those crucial scoring shots.

Dial these three in and you'll start hitting more greens, leaving shorter putts and watching your handicap drop 📉

Still swinging out of your shoes and finding the trees? 😅 Let's fix that.

🏌️‍♂️ WEEKLY COACHING TIP: More distance AND more fairways

Most golfers think power comes from swinging harder. It doesn't. It comes from swinging better. Here are three things we work on with almost every player on the lesson tee:

1️⃣ Tee it higher than you think
Half the ball above the crown of your driver. This encourages a slight upward strike, which launches the ball higher with less spin. Same swing speed, more carry. Free yards, honestly.

2️⃣ Widen your stance and add a little tilt
Feet just outside shoulder width. Then let your trail shoulder sit slightly lower than your lead shoulder at address. That small tilt sets you up to hit up on the ball instead of chopping down on it.

3️⃣ Swing at 80 percent
This is the one nobody wants to hear. Try a few drives at what feels like 80 percent effort and watch what happens. Better contact off the centre of the face beats a wild lash every single time. Centre strike is the real distance secret. 🎯

📝 Your drill for the week:
Head to the range with 10 balls. Hit all 10 at 80 percent and pick a target line each time. Count how many finish in your imaginary fairway. Do it again next week and beat your score.

Scottie Scheffler is a two-time FedExCup champion, and honestly, it never even felt close.

The man showed up at East Lake, went to work, and walked away with the biggest prize in golf for the second time. Cool, calm, and absolutely relentless from start to finish. 🐐

Say what you want about the format, the pressure, or the field. When Scottie is playing like this, everyone else is just competing for second. ⛳️🔥
