We came of strong in the first race, was running 6th and had a fight with a rut on the inside line 1/2way through lap3 which resulted in a couple places back but finished off in 9th on race one.

We enjoyed a great weekend in the company of the Lawrence family. Lucas had to drop back due to track conditions and severe hand cramps, which would have prevented him from finishing another lap. We will work on resolving this issue. In the meantime, Lucas has retained his 10th position overall on the 65 and is tied with Keleb in 11th place on the 85. We are looking forward to the Geralton event in two weeks. Gavin Lawrence Matt Hoffman

Needless to say, it was an epic weekend getaway with exceptional company, courtesy of the Lawrence family, specifically Xavier and Lucas. Having not ridden for six months due to our transition into a job involving house moving, among other things, this weekend saw us pulling out all the stops. Lucas made his debut in the senior 65s and rode the 85sw for only the second time, while Xavier tackled the sandy terrain for the first time. As most racers are aware, the Manji track boasts numerous variations, featuring uphill and downhill sections, sand, clay, and pea gravel, making it a wild ride. Despite a less-than-ideal setup on my part, Lucas persisted, competing in three rounds on the 65 and 85, in addition to participating in the 65 and 85 shootouts. He endured multiple ruts, was run into, tucked the front, went over the bars numerous times and blew the forks on both the 85 and 65, yet still managed to secure 11th place in both classes. Lucas was absolutely exhausted but satisfied with his performance. On the other hand, Xavier turned up the intensity and demonstrated that the sandy terrain posed no significant challenge for him. He was thrilled with his own performance, and we were equally impressed until the next event.
