Happy 80th Birthday to Judy Blackburn & Margaret White! 🥂🎂💐

What a wonderful milestone to celebrate with your golfing friends — 80 years young and still swinging! 🏌️‍♀️💚

Both ladies were also presented with their Vets 80th Birthday Marker by VWGA President Virginia Hewitt to recognise this fabulous occasion.

Congratulations Judy & Margaret — here’s to many more happy rounds, plenty of laughs and hopefully a few more birdies! 🥳⛳️🥂

Congratulations to Trish Huthwaite (23) on winning the Women’s Captains Trophy with a fantastic score of 68.
This trophy has been awarded since 1999. It was a perfect opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful work our current and past Women Captains have done for our club.
Special mention was given to past Captains that are still very much connected to our club today.

The Christmas in July - Pro Shop Trophy event was well received and celebrated in true fashion.

Woolooware fielded a competitive team to participate in the annual Seniors Interclub Event today. The weather was perfect but sadly the Kareela course was too tough for the majority of us.
Congratulations to Kareela who took out the trophy. Woolooware finished 2nd.
Great day was had by all.

A very special day at Woolooware Golf Club today as we played for the inaugural Maureen Gasnier Trophy.

Maureen was a much-loved member of our club and served as Women’s President for many years. She was passionate about golf, our club and, most importantly, the wonderful friendships she made along the way.

Ten years after Maureen’s passing at the age of 77, her daughter, Kellie Williams, wanted to honour her mum’s memory by generously donating a perpetual trophy in her name. Having joined Woolooware herself last year, Kellie says she now truly understands why her mum loved the game so much and treasured the friendships it brought.

Congratulations to our inaugural winner, Leanne Matthews, with a fantastic score of 39 points. Well done also to our Division winners: Margaret White (Division 2) and Leanne Tasker (Division 3).

There was a special presentation today of a cheque for $18,638 to David Moran from One Meal, the incredible amount raised at last week’s Charity Day. David was genuinely overwhelmed by the generosity of our members, sponsors and supporters.

Woolooware Women’s Golf Charity Day 2026

What a wonderful day we enjoyed at Woolooware Golf Club for our annual Women’s Charity Day, raising funds for our chosen charity, One Meal.

We were delighted to welcome David Moran, who joined us for lunch and spoke about the incredible work One Meal does in providing meals and support to many people in our community who are doing it tough. We are particularly hopeful that the funds raised through our Charity Day will help support One Meal’s breakfast program for local high school students who arrive at school without having eaten, giving them the best possible start to their day and helping them focus on learning.

The weather was perfect, play moved smoothly thanks to our on-course marshals, and it was fantastic to see so many teams embracing the One Meal theme with their creative outfits and decorations.

A tremendous amount of work went into making the day such a success. The Women’s Committee and Charity Day Committee worked tirelessly to secure hole sponsors and donated prizes, resulting in an amazing 19 raffle hampers and multiple silent auction items.
Thank you to all our members and supporters who donated so generously. We are hopeful of raising close to $15,000, with the final total to be announced soon.

A special thank you goes to Women’s President Lynne Willis, Therese Baker, and Sue Wyse for their dedication, commitment, and countless hours of work in delivering a wonderful day for members and guests while raising much-needed funds for One Meal.
