As announced on Thursday night at the 2026 Eagles Club Champion, after 122 SANFL games and 146 goals, Jack Hayes has announced his retirement from SANFL football.

Success followed Jack right throughout his journey at the Eagles winning premierships at all levels (U18’s, Reserves, League).

Jack was a big game player. He always delivered in big moments and did so right to the very end with key final quarter goals in both finals wins in the most recent 2026 campaign.

And who could forget his 2021 Grand Final performance where he was awarded the Jack Oatey Medal.

Jack has been one of the premier key forwards of the SANFL competition over the past decade and goes down as one of the greats of the Woodville West Torrens Football Club.

Congratulations on an amazing career Jack.

Wishing Michael Frederick the very best of luck, as he lines up for the Fremantle Dockers in today’s AFL Grand Final.

“Fast Freddy” was a member of our Eagles Under 18s Premiership team in 2019, winning the best on ground Alan Stewart Medal, before being drafted at pick 61 by Freo later that year.
