The home of the Wonthaggi bowls club. For all your information regarding the club, from Pennant, Tournaments and social bowls to Corporate bowls.

Having formed in 1911, Wonthaggi Bowls Club is the oldest sporting club in the township having been formed only two years after the tent town was established to extract black coal from the State Coal Mines for the Victorian Railways. The Club welcomes all new bowlers or anyone wishing to take up bowls, with free coaching provided. All new members are made very welcome by our friendly Club and an information pack is made available. Wonderful competition this afternoon against Inverloch Bowling Club. We managed to retain the Bunnurong Shield in our annual preseason clash. Great atmosphere and comradeship across all of the rinks. Thanks again to our amazing volunteers.

What a great turnout for Friday night! People of all ages, raffles, membership draw (sorry Teresa Davison you left too soon) snacks and a few 🍻.

Don't forget tomorrow (Saturday) is our annual match against Inverloch. Starts at 1pm. We will also be playing the AFL Preliminary Final on the big screen from 5pm so stick around or turn up for a great evening.

Thanks to our friends from Phillip Island BC for a great day. We managed to win the Jackson Major Memorial shield. Thanks to our amazing volunteers that always step up to make these days possible.

We battle Phillip Island today for the annual Graham Jackson/Daryl Major Memorial Shield.

Graham and Daryl were both brilliant bowlers, respected competitors and wonderful people who gave so much to their clubs and the wider bowls community. They are greatly missed, and today’s game is a fitting way to remember and honour two outstanding men.

Match starts at 1pm at Wonthaggi.

Perfect spring weather for our Midweek Pennant practice match against San Remo.

We had some very brave bowlers embrace Saturday's windy weather and play social bowls. Geoff and Johnny Migs won the day! Well done to everyone else for just turning up.

We have a busy week coming up with a practice match against San Remo on Tuesday morning. Social bowls on Wednesday - names in by midday. Thursday is our first Ladies day for the year - arrive by 9.30. Friday is free coaching commencing at 10. Both Members and Non-Members welcome. We will also be playing the NFL @ the MCG on our big screen. Saturday we have a practice match against PI (no social bowls). If you want to play you better hurray and put your name down or you will miss out!

Our first Turkey Triples event for the season was a huge success, with lots of fresh, happy bowlers enjoying our fast turning greens. The winning trio was John, Giulio and Arthur. Runners up were Denise, Hans and Syd.
