The Illawarra Steelers have edged out the Parramatta Eels by two points in a nail-biting 24-22 contest in Round 5 of the NSWRL Women's Premiership at WIN Stadium, securing their spot inside the top four.

Both teams crossed for five tries each, but it was the composure of debutant goal-kicker Georgie Barrett, nailing a crucial sideline conversion in the 57th minute, that proved the difference.

Collegians Senior Football League have kept themselves firmly in the Harrigan Motor Group Cup Minor Premiership and top-three race, storming home with three second-half tries to overturn a 10-point halftime deficit and defeat Dapto Canaries 16-14 in a dramatic contest in their postponed Round 5 washout fixture.

With the victory, Collegians move into a share of second place alongside Corrimal Cougars RLFC and Dapto, all tied on 10 points. They now trail co-leaders Wests Devils Football Club and Thirroul Butchers by two points, with six rounds left in the regular season.
