We’ve undertaken extensive community consultation for the proposed Great Koala National Park – one of the largest ever undertaken for a new national park 🐨

We listened and gathered your feedback through face-to-face meetings, group forums, events, online sessions, and the Have Your Say survey which received nearly 4,000 responses.

Locals shared with us their appreciation for the recreation opportunities, outstanding conservation values, natural beauty and wellbeing benefits that this area provides. This feedback showing strong support for improved protection for koalas and other threatened species, while continuing support for a wide range of recreational activities, will help inform management decisions into the future.

Plans for the proposed park will support recreation and conservation, alongside cultural priorities while also increasing jobs and nature-based experiences.

What a privilege to be part of 4WD NSW & ACT train the trainer day held in Wollongong, Black Diamond Recreational 4wd Club Inc members gained new skills and knowledge about new technology invested in most modern 4wd vehicles. So much experience and knowledge in one room. Thank to the DTU members who freely gave their time and vast knowledge. These training days bolster the many benefits of being a member of a registered 4wd Club.

Modified Explorer are having a massive open day Saturday the 4th of July. Show and Shine competition (with a $900.00 winners prize, and limited spots still available). Dyno demonstrates running every hour, unfortunately Black Diamond Recreational 4wd Club Inc has another engagement and can't be there to support the event, but our Travel Ramp will be there to separate, "the can do and can't do", rumour is Jose will be there showing off the might Jeep and defending his title of the Illawarra Ramp King. Will be a day not to be missed.

A big thank you to John & Anne for organising bush dancing with Wongawilli Colonial Dance Club. What a fantastic night learning some very entertaining boot scooting dances. Black Diamond Recreational 4wd Club Inc members danced like no one was watching, and steel cap boots were your best friend 😀, Illawarra's version of dancing with the stars. No photo evidence allowed 🤣
