50 Club Games - Abbey “AT” Thomas

What’s better than one milestone? TWO milestones!! Another big congrats to AT on playing 50 games for the club!

“AT joined the Doggies back in 2023, arriving alongside the much-loved Mikki J. From day one, the pair formed a dynamic duo, with a full forward and centre half forward combination that opposition teams hated coming up against.
Over her time at the club, AT has claimed multiple leading goal kicker awards, thanks to her clean hands, strong footy IQ and knack for finding the goals. She has always been a dangerous presence inside forward 50 and someone her teammates could rely on when the game was on the line.
But what has been most impressive is her willingness to embrace a new challenge. Last year, Pete and I asked AT to step out of her comfort zone and take on a move into the ruck. It’s been incredible to watch her growth in the role. Not only is she enjoying arguably her best season yet, but her impact now extends far beyond the scoreboard. Her work in the ruck, ability to influence contests around the ground and impact once the ball hits the deck have made her one of the most pivotal players in our side.
There’s something special about seeing a player back themselves, work hard at their craft and develop new areas of their game. That’s exactly what AT has done, and we’re incredibly proud of the player she has become.
AT has also been voted into our leadership group over the past few seasons, and it’s easy to see why. She sets the standard through her actions, supports her teammates and embodies everything we want our club to be about.

50 Club Games - Eliana “Eli” Curtis

Congratulations to Eli on playing 50 games for the club!

“Since joining the club in 2023, Eli has become an integral part of our womens squad, with the vast majority of her 50 games being played in the prems team.
Eli is one of the most humble and hardworking players you could hope to coach. Last year, Pete and I challenged her to make the transition into the full back position. I will always remember her reaction when we floated the idea to her - ‘are you serious? But I’m not Georgia Huntly.’ And while there was some initial hesitation, she embraced the challenge, stepped outside her comfort zone and has absolutely made the position her own. And she is right, she isn’t Georgia Huntly, she is Eli Curtis & she has become one of the most reliable key position players in the competition. Her composure, game sense and ability to impact contests make her such an important player for our team.
Eli has also been voted into our leadership group over the past few seasons, which comes as no surprise to anyone who knows her. The way she leads through her actions, competes for her teammates and carries herself both on and off the field is exactly the type of person you want to run out behind every week.
Most importantly, Eli is a beautiful-natured person who genuinely loves this club and her teammates. She is an absolute pleasure to coach and embodies everything we value here at the club. What a privilege it is to have seen her run out for 50 of the best.
Congratulations Eli on 50 games in the red, white and blue. We can’t wait to see what the next 50 have in store.”

We’ve got a jam packed day at home with all grades playing. Our two women’s teams will start the day while our lads will play in the arvo. Let’s go Doggies!!! 💙🤍❤️

50 Club Games - Luisa “Lu, Lui” Bishop-Marzotto

Congratulations to Lui on reaching TWO massive milestones - 50 games for the club and her 200th career game!!

“Luisa Marzotto hits 50 games on the paddock for the Doggies (incredibly coinciding with 200 senior games across her career), but the impact is much bigger than this milestone match.
*Two time Bulldog premiership player (prems 2019, ressies 2025)
* Club leading goal scorer
* Grand final best on (25)
* South Coast rep player
* Club captain

Not resting on that impressive list, Luis has served on our committee as footy ops manager & this year joined the board as women’s vice president.
Still not done... Luis was an assistant coach in our 3rd grade (div 2) premiership winning men’s team in 2022, taking over the side as head coach for back to back flags & the honour of being the first female premiership winning coach at the Doggies & the league.
Congratulations Luisa on a Trail blazing, ground breaking, standout career in AFL & for reaching 50 games with the Dogs.

Then tomorrow to celebrate Ladies Round hosted by Uni Bulldogs on Saturday we launch The Pioneer Luisa Bishop-Marzotto. What an amazing lady with a great story, I didn’t know Lui before the interview but geez it was the most interesting interview yet.
