Behind the brand // Meet the Founder.

Hi guys, my name's Matt. I'm a dad to Asher (3) and Zahlee (3 months) and a husband to Megan.

I founded Fractel back in 2018 when I began to really find my love for running and the outdoors. In 2011 (21 years old) I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and had my driver's licence taken away and was told I'd be blind at age 30. This meant commuting by foot or bike was my new mode of transport. Fast forward 12 years and my vision is hanging in there.. I was formally classified legally blind just last month, so I definitely now try and avoid the more technical trails haha.

This new perspective is the reason why I run and it has allowed me to grow the business organically, build our community and the products that come with it.

In Jan 2022, I quit my 'day job' as a Surveyor and went FT Fractel and plan to never look back.

I'm super excited to keep the brand momentum going with the support of likeminded people like yourselves!

We all have a 'why' and this is mine.
