Highland Muscle will be back at the Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival this Sunday 29th March.
With male and female athletes ranging from 19-60 years of age throwing heavy things around, it’s sure to be another fantastic day at this amazing event.

A massive thank you to all the spectators and supporters who came to cheer on our athletes at this year’s National Championships at CelticFest Warwick

Many of the athletes commented to feeling extremely supported by the level of encouragement and adoration shown throughout the weekend. Cheering athletes along as they step up to the trig, position the caber and prepare for their throws was felt and heard on the field.

Spectators and supporters help keep this sport alive and strong here in Australia, and we witnessed a fine example of that over the last two days and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Our trophy for Most Improved Athlete for 2025 was presented to Melanie Sparkes today. A trophy donated and selected by the Mitchell and Lintern families.

Mel has improved exponentially in her first years of Highland Games and we couldn’t be more proud to have her with us at Highland Muscle. Earning her place competing earlier this year in the Amateur International Championships after only two few short years competing in nothing short of awe-inspiring.

A woman who shows incredible dedication, courage, and heart in all aspects of life, and we’ve seen this time and time again on and off the field from Mel. Her commitment to training and competing is beyond impressive. The level of sportsmanship showed by Mel at every event is something all athletes should strive for.

A very well deserved award for Mel.
Congratulations, we can’t wait to see the improvements continue into 2026 and how far you can grow in this sport!
