Meet our NSPC Coach Ruby-lee 🌻

Ruby-lee has been a valued member of the NSPC coaching team for nearly five years. After starting as a fitness trainee, she has recently completed her Bachelor of Exercise Science. Her favourite part of her degree was studying anatomy and learning the body inside out.

She enjoys seeing members achieve goals , whether it’s getting up from a chair more comfortably or improving their performance in sport.

Rubes sees NSPC as a place where people not only show up for themselves, but for each other, and is proud to be part of the supportive, welcoming community that makes NSPC such a special place to train.

Meet Simon Bergner - Owner & Head Coach of NSPC Woonona.

NSPC may have just relocated to Woonona, but this suburb is actually where Simon’s fitness journey began many years ago at WB Fitness Centre.

Simon founded National Strength Performance Centre (NSPC) in Bulli in 2014 with a vision to create a facility where quality coaching, proven training methods, and a supportive environment would help people achieve their full potential.

His coaching philosophy centres on developing strong, capable, and resilient individuals through expert guidance, technical excellence, and consistent effort. Drawing on extensive experience in both high-performance sport and strength training Simon helps athletes and everyday members alike train with purpose, build confidence, and achieve meaningful, long-term results.

Beyond coaching at NSPC, Simon is the Head Coach of Para Powerlifting Australia , supporting Paralympic powerlifters while also developing coaches across the country. In a few weeks, he will be leading the largest-ever Australian team to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

NSPC Woonona has been designed to cater for everyone. As a fully accessible training facility, the gym features 3 Samtek combo racks, a Para Powerlifting competition bench, 2 deadlift platforms, pin-loaded machines, a dedicated cardio area, and everything needed to support beginners, athletes, powerlifters, and Para athletes alike.

NSPC brings over a decade of experience and a unique coaching approach focused on delivering real results through quality training, expert coaching, and a supportive community.

What a weekend at NSPC!

Despite being right in the middle of our gym relocation, we were proud to host the Powerlifting Australia National Championships - Central Division.

This competition was one of four qualifying championship events being held across Australia, with all results contributing to the overall 2026 Powerlifting Australia National Championships standings.

A huge congratulations to the 22 athletes who took to the platform and delivered some outstanding performances.

🏆 Best Male Lifter - Mahmoud Aldoumani
🏆 Best Female Lifter - Natasha Kaminski
🏆 Best Bench Press - Gantugs Ganjuur

Events like this are only possible because of the people behind the scenes. Thank you to all of our volunteers, referees, spotters, and the NSPC community who generously gave their time and energy to make the competition a success.
