Held as part of Equimillion 2026 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, this exciting new Championship is exclusively for eligible Pony Club NSW riders aged 13–25 years competing on Thoroughbreds.⁠

With only 60 horse-and-rider combinations accepted — and just 10 places available in each class — we strongly recommend getting your entry in early!⁠

Today we’re introducing another of our Seven Pillars of Education — KNOW THE RULES.

Rules aren’t there to make Pony Club complicated. They’re there to help keep competition safe, fair and consistent for everyone.

KNOW THE RULES will help riders, parents, coaches and officials better understand:

⭐ SETTING THE STANDARD — Integrity, Behaviour & Child Safeguarding

Today we’re introducing another of our Seven Pillars of Education — SETTING THE STANDARD.

Pony Club should be a place where young people feel safe, respected, supported and able to enjoy their sport.

That means the standard we set matters — not just in the arena, but in the way we speak, behave, lead, coach, volunteer and look out for one another.

SETTING THE STANDARD will focus on:

👥 Positive coaching and leadership

💛 R U OK? DAY — A CONVERSATION COULD CHANGE A LIFE 💛

Today is a reminder that checking in with someone doesn’t need to be complicated.

Sometimes a simple “Are you OK?” can be the start of a conversation someone really needs.

At Pony Club, we’re more than riders, coaches, volunteers, families and friends — we’re a community. Looking out for one another is just as important outside the arena as it is inside it.

💛 Check in with your friends, teammates and fellow volunteers.
💛 Listen without judgement.
💛 Give them time to talk.
💛 Encourage support if they’re struggling.
💛 And don’t forget — it’s okay to tell someone when you’re not OK too.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Sometimes simply being there can make all the difference.

📣 SILVER ZOOM INSTRUCTORS SCHOOL — REGISTER NOW! 🐴💻

Our Silver Zoom Instructors School is coming up next week, with sessions held online at 7.00pm on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 September 2026.

This is a great opportunity for instructors looking to update, progress or transition their qualifications, including:
Anyone currently holding an Instructor’s Certificate
NCAS, Bronze and Silver Level Instructors who need to update or are preparing to move to the next level
Old System 1, 2 or Introductory Instructors who need to transition across to the current system

Being delivered via Zoom, you can take part from home while continuing to build your knowledge, confidence and skills as a Pony Club instructor.

Today we’re introducing another of our Seven Pillars of Education — BEYOND THE SADDLE.

Pony Club is about so much more than riding.

It’s about developing confident young people who can communicate, make decisions, solve problems, support others and keep going when things don’t go to plan.

Through horses, our members learn skills that stay with them long after they leave the arena.

BEYOND THE SADDLE will focus on:

Today we’re introducing another one of the foundations of our Seven Pillars of Education Series — and it starts where good horsemanship always should: with the horse.

FROM THE GROUND UP is our dedicated education series focused on:

🐴 Horsemanship
📚 Horse knowledge
❤️ Horse welfare
🩺 Health, care and management
🌱 Understanding behaviour
🤝 Building better partnerships with our horses

Because being a great rider is about far more than what happens in the saddle.

It’s knowing your horse.
Understanding what they’re telling you.
Recognising when something isn’t right.
Learning how to care for them properly.
And always putting their welfare first.

Whether you’re learning how to check vital signs, fit gear correctly, understand feeding, recognise signs of discomfort or simply become more confident handling your horse — it all starts from the ground up.

Over the months, we’ll be sharing practical tips, education, activities and knowledge that riders, parents, coaches and clubs can use every day.

Because before the ribbons, the rounds and the results…
