What a night to be out on the Hawkesbury with the Morison 50 being held at Macquarie park this afternoon. It’s great to see more than 40 paddlers take on the challenge! Stay tuned for photos from the finish line!

We are all set up at today! Say hello and organize a Come and Try lesson for free or sign up and join our family friendly club!
How fast do you need to be to paddle the Morison 50? Here’s everything you need to know…
1. You can do any speed but there are time cut offs where you will be turned around and guided back to the start/finish location.
2. Paddlers doing the Moonlit Morison 25km paddle starting at 5.30pm must be able to paddle 8.4km/h minimum against the tide to reach the turn at Cattai Creek before boats are asked to turn around. The safety boat will direct paddlers back to the finish line after 7pm if they have not reached the turn bouy.
3. Daytime 25km paddlers should be able to paddle 25km in 3 hours. Safety boats will slowly move to the night time course and any paddlers still heading upstream will be turned around and asked to head back to the finish line.

Want an opportunity to paddle the Hawkesbury River at dusk? Or are you keen to see the river with an afternoon glow? The Morison 50 race on Saturday 22 August offers both opportunities. If paddling at dusk, there are a few extra safety requirements: mobile phone with Webscorer App in waterproof case, life jacket conforming to Level 50S, waterproof torch, pealess whistle and emergency blanket. Ensure your boat has positive buoyancy. WPSC will provide a wristband with emergency contact details and white cyalumes with holder for the front and back of each craft. For more info check Webscorer or the WPSC website!

We have a Morison 50 update hot off the press! Start times will be as follows:
1) wave 1 starts at 2pm for those who need a little longer to paddle 50km, or paddlers who want to paddle 25km in the daylight
2) wave 2 starts at 3pm for those paddlers doing the 50km course (Division 5 and above in the NSW Marathon Series or min 10klm/hr average).
3) wave 3 starts at 5.30pm which is for all paddlers wanting to complete 25km under a moonlit sky.
We are hoping all paddlers are channeling their inner Morisons on the day! Check out this classic photo of the Morisons after a golden five-fa at the World Masters Games. Bonus points to anyone who recognizes the location of this stunning paddling spot 👀👀

Check out our amazing new signage. We are hoping these great new signs at Macquarie Park in Windsor will help people get to know our club better and promote more participation in paddling! And we have had them installed just in time for our upcoming Morison 50 event
