Nearly ready for the next round!! ๐ŸŽ๏ธ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

Just needs a good clean and weโ€™re set.

#38 has the new engine on and is almost race ready. Just needs a fuel line and some wheel spacers to finish it off. It was a bit of a rough arvo figuring out the clutch, but thanks to Lochy Shearsmith for the help getting it all back together.

Canโ€™t wait to hit the track!

๐Ÿ Race Weekend Update โ€“ Carey Brothers Racing

What a weekend it was!

Friday night in the shed didnโ€™t go to plan at all. We spent hours trying to sort out our brake issues but got absolutely nowhere. Saturday morning we had another crack at it and still couldnโ€™t figure out the problem. Eventually, after pulling everything apart again, we discovered that one of the seals inside the brake master cylinder had been installed the wrong way around the whole time. Once we flipped it around, everything worked perfectly and we were finally back in business.

We arrived at the track around 5:30pm on Saturday, set up camp, fitted the wheels, and got everything ready for Sundayโ€™s race day. Unfortunately, we didnโ€™t get any practice laps due to the time spent fixing the brakes.

๐ŸŽ๏ธ Benoโ€™s Day

Heat 1 started off well, with Beno gaining 2 positions from the back of the grid. Unfortunately, there was a first-lap incident where another kart ended up on top of us, snapping the front Nassau panel. We managed to repair the damage and get back out there. We were also running a slower engine as we didnโ€™t have enough time to properly run in our fresh engine before the weekend.

Heat 2 ended early with a DNF after a loose chain repeatedly came off.

Heat 3 was another strong drive, although we had more contact with another kart which again resulted in a broken front panel and bent steering. Once again, we got everything repaired and back on track.

The Final was by far our best race of the day. Beno was right on the pace and made up 4 positions from the back. Towards the end of the race the engine started to get tired and bog slightly, but he defended hard from the karts behind and brought it home in P13 out of 16 starters. Considering we started from the rear due to still being on P Plates, we were extremely happy with that result.

๐ŸŽ๏ธ Willโ€™s Day

Will had a fantastic day. After Heat 1 we discovered a loose wheel rim which was causing some vibrations, but we got that sorted quickly and pushed on.

Heat 2, Heat 3 and the Final were all very consistent. Will put together some strong laps, stayed out of trouble, and kept his pace up throughout the day with no major mishaps. His consistency paid off, and he finished the day in P6 out of 22 competitors, which is an awesome result and something to be very proud of.

A huge thank you to Torque Karting for supplying the bits and pieces we needed throughout the weekend and for all the advice and support along the way. We really appreciate the help and the time taken to point us in the right direction when weโ€™ve needed it.

Next weekend weโ€™ll be heading to Toowoomba again, but this time jumping into a completely different kart to practice in a Twin Honda 4-Stroke. Weโ€™re really looking forward to the experience and canโ€™t wait to get some more laps under our belts.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports Carey Brothers Racing. Bring on next weekend! ๐ŸŽ๏ธ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

๐Ÿ Carey Brothers Racing are off to Round 4 at the Toowoomba Kart Club this weekend!

We fitted a new piston into the KA100 2 weeks ago, and we now have to run the engine in properly before we can push it at race pace.

We wouldโ€™ve had the engine run in last weekend when we went out for a practice day, but we ran into some brake problems and had to pack up early and head back home. We pulled the brake system apart and tried rebuilding it, but unfortunately that didnโ€™t fix the issue, so weโ€™ve now decided to fit a full rebuild kit to the brake system before the weekend.

Beno and Will will both be driving this weekend and weโ€™re very excited to be heading back to Toowoomba for our second race meeting of the season.

Our goal for this weekend is to race hard, push ourselves to our limits, and achieve the best results possible while continuing to learn and improve every time we hit the track.

Hopefully everything goes to plan and weโ€™ll be ready to hit the track for Round 4! ๐ŸŽ๏ธ๐ŸŽ๏ธ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

Benoโ€™s Weekend

Practice Saturday arvo went unreal. Kart was insanely fast, almost up to pace with the X30 boys. Then the wheel nuts came loose and the wobble was that bad it destroyed the rear left rim and hub.

Heat 1 this morning was rough. Had a couple spins just pushing too hard on cold tyres and a cold track. Then got tagged from behind on the last lap, ended up with a DNF.

Heat 2 was alright, but same issue againโ€ฆ wheel nuts came loose. Finished 15th out of 17 lol, definitely need more seat time.

Final was actually solid. Everything felt good, just lacking a bit of engine power probably needs a rebuild and a better setup. Came 17th.

Overall not a bad start to the season. Just need more seat time, fine tune in the setup, and 110% need to get the lambda sensor in for proper tuning.

Willโ€™s Weekend

W***y went pretty well. Had to start at the back for all three races since weโ€™re both on our Pโ€™s after a long break from karting.

He was gaining at least 10 spots each heat, which is unreal for his first time back.

In Heat 2 he got taken off the track which bent the axle and caused a few issues, but we got it sorted.

Ended up finishing around P6 overall, solid result considering everything

Big thanks to Mum, Dad and the rest of the fam for all the help and support, keeping us boys pushing and working towards where we want to get. Couldnโ€™t do it without you โค๏ธ

And a special thanks to Mum for constantly having to move her car out of the garage so we can work on the karts haha ๐Ÿ˜‚

All ready for our first race weekend of the season starting tomorrow morning. Feeling good with everything.

Had a few dramas tonight (as usual ๐Ÿ˜‚ karts always got something wrong) but we got around it and got everything sorted.

Practice at Toowoomba tomorrow just to get the feel of the track again, racing starts Sunday morning.

Nearly 2 months laterโ€ฆ the kart is finally back together and ready to hit the track tomorrow at Ipswich Kart Club.

Itโ€™s been a rough run with a heap of dramas and issues, but we took our time and fixed everything properly instead of rushing back out and risking breaking more stuff again.

Tomorrowโ€™s just a test day to get everything dialled in and race ready after missing the last 2 rounds.

Letโ€™s see what we are dealing with tomorrow!!!

Big thanks to Mum, Dad and Will for all the support through it.

Carey Brothers Racing IS BACK!
After 3 years away, weโ€™re excited to be back into our passion at the track

The team stepped away for a while due to stress and life pulling us in different directions, but the passion for racing never really left. About September this year we decided itโ€™s finally time to get back into what we love most.

And a special thank-you to Mum, and Dad for getting giving me the opportunity to get back into it. โค๏ธ
