THIRD QDRC VICTORY IN A ROW FOR JOSH 🏆
B team driver Josh Fletcher extends his lead in the QDRC Outlaws Championship for 2026.
Saturday was the 4th Outlaws round of the Mr Wong’s Hydraulics sponsored track championship at Willowbank Raceway.
Under perfect racing conditions, Josh managed to make another final, winning against the consistent Kellie Kidd.
A team driver Bill was able to assist Josh with his championship lead, when he claimed wins against Josh’s closests challengers in Garry Cameron & Shane Atkinson. The wins were not enough for Bill to face Josh in the final for the evening.
With 4 crew members not available on the day, TFR had to call in the reserves to help. Special thanks to our backup, backup girl Tiana Ellis for her efforts & the rest of the crew for making it all happen.
Not only was it a win for Josh Fletcher in Outlaws but it was also a win for long time crew member Josh Heinrich in Super Street. Josh has made the finals previously but this is the first time he has come away with the win

Willowbank Raceway hosted the 4th round of the Archers Smash Repairs Street Series last Saturday. TFR was represented by Josh Fletcher in the Mighty Torana. 🚘
For those who follow, they will know that we had to replace the engine after a failure in Sydney in May. With time an issue, we were fortunate to purchase another engine & have it ready for the Winters but with no testing.
Things did not all go to plan as there were some issues with the new combination.
However with Josh’s usual commitment, the Torana was back on track Saturday after some major changes. ✅
Even though there was not enough time for tuning/testing, the combination of a new engine & Josh’s driving skills resulted in another victory. Congratulations to Josh on another stellar performance. The win now puts Josh on top of the championship ladder in the Street Series “Old Skool” bracket with 2 rounds left before the shootout finals later this year. In addition to this, he is also the current points leader in his dragster in Supercharged Outlaws! 💪🏼

After several weeks of working on the dragsters it was time to give the new engine in the Torana a bit of TLC. Some issues were found & hopefully rectified. 🤞🏻
We have 3 nights to finish & prepare for the next round of the Street Series this Saturday at Willowbank... means that Friday evening will be a Test n Tune for Josh. Fortunately we do have a 120 metre bitumen driveway which will help, although the traction is questionable. 🤔😂

Saturday 4th July was not only time for the people of USA to celebrate their birthday… 🇺🇸
It was also time for all TFR crew & followers to celebrate another QDRC win for the current track champion & B Team driver, Josh Fletcher! 🥳🏆
With perfect racing conditions, Josh won all rounds of racing with great reactions times & a very well tuned dragster.
Along the way, he defeated A Team driver Bill in the 3rd round, no respect for an elder statesman! 🙂↔️
The weekends’ win now moves Josh to the top of the championship points, with the next round on the 15th August.
A Team driver Bill was back competing at the QDRC after a few months waiting for a few new go-fast parts. Josh had them fitted in time for the event, & as expected all went well. The team cannot wait for the next round!
As always, thank you to our beloved sponsors…

📝 2026 Winternationals Recap ❄️
It was a huge effort from many to have all 3 race cars at the Winternationals this year.
It was unfortunate that the engine from the Mighty Torana decided to go bang at the Nitro Champs in Sydney. The damage was so severe that there was no chance of repair/rebuild, so the decision was made to shop around for another engine.
Fortunately, an engine with a similar combination was available & the purchase was made, knowing that there was plenty of work ahead to try and have the change over completed in time for the Winters.
Upon the return from Sydney, Bill’s dragster engine was the priority. There were no major changes to the engine, just new rods, rings, bearings etc., but the installation still meant many hours in the shed before it was ready for a start up.
We went to the Winter Warm Ups to do some testing for both the car & the driver.
All went well & we were ready for racing.
After the Warm Up's was when work began on the Torana. For those that have ever made a similar change they will appreciate that it doesn't always go smoothly.
Electrical wiring had to be lengthened, or shortened - and things like fuel & water lines the same. The tailshaft needed to be shortened, as well as an adaptor kit from the engine to the transmission. Then of course, the exhaust system had to be modified (Thanks to brother Dan for the last minute call up to do the job). And the list goes on and on...
All was eventually finished on the Tuesday evening prior to the Winters, which left us no time for testing at the track. The 140 metre bitumen driveway at home was the only testing we could conduct, which was one test day short of where we wanted to be. Unfortunately - we really needed that test day as the Torana did have some issues as expected. We feel we have something to work with now & it will be a better race car when we next compete. A big credit to Josh for all the hours he spent trying to make it happen, many would not have given him a chance of even getting it to the track. He enjoys a challenge!
Race day did not go to plan, with all 3 vehicles going out in the 1st Round.
It was expected with the Torana, but having both dragsters out was a disappointment for all.
Bill was up against a relatively new racer who managed to put down an amazing run with a .008 reaction time & just .008 over his dial in at the finish line.
The ever-consistent Josh reacted strongly with a .016 reaction but broke out by 0.019. The first 2 days of qualifying we experienced a strong head wind which disappeared by race day, causing many racers to misjudge their dial in's & run too fast.
The next race meeting with be the 4th round of the QDRC on the 4th July - which will be the first time in 15 months where both Bill & Josh will compete at the local championship!
