Congratulations to Lara on being awarded the Tiny Award, our Junior Club Person of the Year for Roopena Football & Sporting Club.

This nomination came directly from her Netball Roopena family, and below you can read exactly why Lara is so deserving of this honour.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to Lara Giddings on being presented with the Roopena Football & Sporting Club ‘Tiny Award’!

This very special award recognises a Roopena junior who goes above and beyond for their club and Lara, you have certainly done that this year.

From playing her own games and filling in wherever needed, coaching, umpiring, baking goodies for fundraisers, volunteering at events and always putting her hand up to help, Lara has shown incredible commitment and what it truly means to be Roopena Proud.

The Tiny Award was established and sponsored by Paul Taheny (Tiny) in 2018, with the aim of recognising and rewarding a Roopena junior from across any of our sporting codes.

Tiny was an incredibly generous and proud Roopena man, and his memory continues to live on through this very special award.

Lara, receiving an award that carries Tiny’s name is something you should be incredibly proud of, and we couldn't think of a more deserving recipient.

As President of Roopena Netball Club, I couldn't be prouder of the young person you are and everything you have given to our club this year.

Congratulations to Summa on being awarded Life Membership at Roopena Football & Sporting Club.

A well‑deserved honour recognising years of dedication, leadership and commitment to our community.

It is with great pride that we congratulate Summa Milligan on being awarded life membership for the Roopena Football and Sporting Club.

Life Membership is one of the highest honours our club can give, recognising years of dedication, commitment and service and Summa is an incredibly deserving recipient.

Summa has given countless hours to our club in so many different ways. She has served on committees, been our Media Officer, assisted with fundraising, been part of the Coaching Sub-Committee and Grievance Committee, supported our juniors and taken on bigger roles whenever the club has needed her.

She has also dedicated many years to coaching, guiding teams from juniors through to seniors and celebrating premiership success along the way.

But Summa's contribution goes well beyond a title or position. She is someone who shows up, helps out, donates, creates, volunteers and gives back often quietly behind the scenes and without expecting anything in return.

As a player, coach, committee member, volunteer and supporter, Summa has given so much of herself to Roopena over the years, and our club is better because of it.

Summa, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our club.

You have certainly earned your place among Roopena Club Life Members, and we couldn't be prouder to recognise you. 🩵
