HAPPY RETIREMENT, BILL 🤠🐎 Today we said goodbye to a familiar face around Picklebet Allman Park, with Bill Brown officially hanging up the boots and heading into retirement.

As our Trackwork Supervisor and Assistant to the Racecourse Track & Venue Manager, Bill has been a huge part of life behind the scenes at Warwick Turf Club. But anyone who knows Bill knows he brought a lot more than hard work to the track.

A true larrikin, always ready with a joke, a cheeky comment or something to lighten the mood, Bill has certainly kept us entertained. 😂

Racecourses are built on good people, the ones who turn up early, get stuck in and do the jobs most people never see. Bill has been one of those people, and his contribution to our Club has been greatly appreciated.

We’re going to miss seeing him around the track, but we reckon retirement might suit him just fine… although we’re not convinced he’ll stay away for too long. 👀

From everyone at Warwick Turf Club, thank you Bill for everything you’ve done and all the laughs along the way. Enjoy retirement, you’ve earned it. 🍻🐎🤠

We’re giving this beautiful event a little more time to shine.

Our Long Lunch on the Track will now be held on:Saturday 7 November 2026

Same gorgeous trackside setting. Same delicious food by Top Paddock Catering. Same live entertainment by The Fern Sisters. Now with extra time to gather your friends and a little more music and dancing into the evening. 💃🥂

The Warwick Turf Club will hold its AGM on Thursday, 17 September 2026 at 5.30pm in the David & Margot Cory Members Lounge, Picklebet Allman Park.
