The Newcastle Northstars are proud to have one of the most passionate fan communities in Australian ice hockey. Our social media channels are a place for fans to celebrate the team, discuss games, share opinions and connect with fellow supporters. We welcome healthy debate and understand that not everyone will always agree, but we ask that everyone contributes respectfully. By participating on our social media channels, you agree to follow these House Rules. BE RESPECTFUL
We reserve the right to hide or remove any content, including comments, posts, photos, videos or other material that:
• contains abusive, offensive, threatening, intimidating or harassing behaviour
• targets players, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff, sponsors or other community members with personal attacks or bullying
• is discriminatory, including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism or other forms of hate speech
• contains profanity, sexually explicit or inappropriate content
• deliberately spreads false, misleading or deceptive information
• is defamatory or could damage the reputation of individuals or organisations
• encourages violence, illegal activity or harmful behaviour
• is designed to troll, provoke or deliberately disrupt discussions
• contains spam, repetitive content, scams or unsolicited commercial advertising
• includes personal or confidential information about yourself or others
• infringes copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights
• contains malicious software, links or files that may compromise the security of other users
• breaches the terms of use of the relevant social media platform or any applicable law
• is otherwise considered inappropriate or inconsistent with the values of the Newcastle Northstars
We welcome respectful discussion about games, performances and decisions. However, abuse directed at players, officials, volunteers, staff or fellow fans will not be tolerated. Where appropriate, we may respond to factual inaccuracies to help ensure correct information is available to our community. MODERATION
To help maintain a safe and welcoming community, we reserve the right to:
• hide or remove comments or posts that breach these House Rules
• disable comments on individual posts where necessary
• restrict or ban users who repeatedly or seriously breach these House Rules
• report users or content to the relevant social media platform or authorities where appropriate. Moderation decisions are made at the discretion of the Newcastle Northstars. YOUR CONTENT

Our social media channels are monitored periodically and not continuously. While we aim to review comments and messages as promptly as possible, there may be delays in responding or moderating content outside business hours, on weekends or during busy event periods.
