Hi all, Monday 6th July is Wantirna Tennis Club's Annual General Meeting. 7-45pm for an 8pm start. Come along and see what is happening at our Club .

Our Open Ladies Singles Champion Ashleigh K and Runner Up Alex M both played so well. A great match to wach.
The Open Men's Singles Champion was Tristan N and Bill T was runner up. Both played so well, but there can only be one winner.
All matches were played in great spirit. We look forward to seeing them all play next year 🎾😀

At this stage we are proceeding with the Wantirna Tennis Club Championships from 12pm today.
Due to the weather forecast the WTC Cup will be deferred until early next year.
Some courts will be available for a hit this afternoon and the BBQ will be fired up. Fingers crossed to keep the rain away.

With the very warm weather coming in the next few days, please read the message below. We want everyone to stay safe.
It is important that an adult stays with their young ones at all times when playing at Wantirna Tennis Club facilities.
Have fun and enjoy your hit ups at the Club.

During the daily sun protection times (and whenever UV levels are 3 or above) use a combination of these five sun protection measures:
1. Slip on sun protective clothing
2. Slop on SPF30 or higher, broad-spectrum, water-resistant sun screen
3. Slap on a hat
4. Seek shade
5. Slide on sunglasses

Drinking water while playing tennis
Hydration becomes even more important when playing tennis – our fluid levels need to be replenished more rapidly and regularly because we're sweating more.

Bring your own drink bottles or use the drink/water fountains outside front courts and between the courts on the en tout cas courts out the back. This should be done frequently especially in the warm weather.

Remember to bag the courts after use and a sprinkle of water on the back courts would be appreciated to keep them in good order.
Any problems with courts should be reported to Club Committee members immediately.

Many of you will already be aware of the fact that we are losing Mike from the Coaching team at our Club. The Committee recognises that Mike needs to put his family first and wishes him well for the future. We are sad to see him leaving, and will welcome him back any time in the future. Mike has made a significant contribution to Wantirna Tennis Club and along with Troy has been instrumental in the development of our Junior program and the running of a successful coaching program.
Look out for him at the Australian Open again this year and say hello.

The Wantirna Tennis Club committee is in unanimous support of Troy and the other coaching team members who will be continuing to provide the Coaching program in 2025 and onwards.

The 2024 Wantirna Club Championships concluded on Sunday November 10 in front of a bumper crowd. It was great to see so many members and their families get along to witness some fantastic tennis.
The championships which featured 100 entrants, 86 matches across 10 events were held throughout October and November.
Finals were played on Sunday 10th November.
Congratulations to all the finalists and the new club champions!

The Club wishes to thank the Coaches who organised this great event.
