Over the weekend, Miss Belinda and Miss Poppy had the privilege of attending the very first Creative Childhood Safety Summit, presented by Dance Arts Alliance .

They say, “You have to be in the room where it happens,” and this was certainly the room to be in.

It was an incredible day of learning, listening and important conversations, with inspiring speakers and organisations including the Commissioner, NAPCAN, Project SKIP, Marco Blanco from Child Safeguarding, and many more all coming together with a shared commitment to creating safer environments for children and young people.

We were also incredibly proud to see Miss Poppy invited to be part of the panel, discussing some of the grey areas within the dance industry from competitions and performance environments to navigating the pressures young dancers can experience.

Both Miss Belinda and Miss Poppy walked away feeling incredibly proud of the Next Gen community and the safe, supportive environment we have worked hard to build and will continue to strengthen, learn from and improve.

Child safety isn’t something we simply talk about.

A huge thank you to Dance Arts Alliance for bringing our industry together and creating space for these important conversations. What an incredible first summit!
