Wangaratta parkrun is a free timed 5km run/walk run by volunteers each Saturday at 8am at Apex park The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!
parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Wangaratta parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful open spaces and get physically active in the process

The foggy start to the morning promised a great day with an even better start to the day by those who attended Wangaratta parkrun.

Today we used our “alternate” course again. We had 93 participants on a mild cloudy winter (but Spring not far away) morning. Visitors came from Rosebud, Euroa and Queensland. We had at least one first timer and volunteer.

We have a few volunteer spots to fill for next week, barcode scanner, timekeeper, photographer, (with the new beaut camera!), event day course checker. If you can help please reply below.

We will definitely be using the alternate course this Saturday 22nd August, starting from the Wangaratta Scout Hall Carpark, but we NEED A FEW MORE VOLUNTEERS PLEASE, to help Run Director Graeme.
A barcode scanner, someone to hand out finish tokens, a marshall, parkwalker, photographer, and someone to check the course before we start.

ALTERNATE COURSE this Saturday 15th August, starting from the river path close to the Wangaratta Scout Hall, and the journey is twice to the Showgrounds corner. The river has subsided gently from “major flood “level.
We need a few more volunteers please to join those already on the roster. Critically we need a barcode scanner, timekeeper, and someone to hand out finish tokens, as well as a parkwalker, If you can help please reply below.
We are very lucky to have our alternate course- join Run Director Dave at the Wangaratta Scout Hall Carpark at 7.45am before the 8am start.
We had 71 enthusiastic walkers, runners and strollers this fine winter morning. Congratulations to Fran for completing the Down Under Challenge (she's walked the equivalent to the distance around Australia) and on her birthday! The roster for next week is looking a bit lean, please let us know if you would like to volly - its the best high other than a personal best, you catch up on all the goss, and you too can say "What's that persons name again?' many times! ONE MORE VOLUNTEER AND WE ARE SET.
This Saturday 8th August looks like a lovely clear morning and at least a balmy 4c or higher! So join us for a walk, jog or run at Apex Park at 7.50am for the briefing from Run Director Tammy, before the 8am start.
