💚🏐 CRAIGIEBURN ROUND 9 WRAP UP 🏐💚

Another great round at Craigieburn for Wandong, with a big win, a nail-biting draw and another dominant performance from our teams. 💚🤍

🤠 11&U RENEGADES

What a bounce back from our Renegades! After a tough game last week, the girls responded in the best possible way with a convincing 14–2 win over Maggie’s Motion. 🎉

The girls were vocal, supportive and encouraging of each other all around the court, and that teamwork certainly showed on the scoreboard. It’s fantastic to see how far this team has come since the beginning of the season!

🌟 Player of the Match – Milla

“Milla had an epic game through the midcourt, creating opportunities and chasing down every ball.”

🤠 13&U REBELS

Talk about a nail-biter! 😮‍💨 The Rebels fought their way to a thrilling 18–18 draw against TeamXtreme Black in a game that remained neck and neck from the opening whistle.

Facing an older and more experienced opponent, the Rebels used their speed, energy and determination to stay right with them. Neither team could break away, and as the final minutes ticked down, the pressure continued to build.

The Rebels held their nerve and fought right until the final whistle, with TeamXtreme managing to level the scores in the dying stages of the match.

A draw might not be the result they were hoping for, but this was another fantastic showing from our Rebels as they continue to prove themselves in Division One! 💪💚

🌟 Player of the Day – Claire

“Claire showed fantastic composure and effort in defence for the entire game.”

Well done, Claire and the Rebels!

⭐ 15/17&U STARS

Another huge performance from the Stars, who secured a dominant 36–6 victory over Maggie’s Majestic. ⭐

From the opening whistle, the Stars clicked into gear. Their attacking end found space beautifully, moving the ball with confidence and precision, while crisp passing and strong movement created plenty of opportunities in the goal circle.

At the other end, the Stars’ defensive pressure made life incredibly difficult for Maggie’s, creating turnovers and allowing Wandong to take control of the match.

It was another complete team performance and a convincing 30-goal victory!

Round 9 gave us another great example of just how much these teams have developed — the Renegades continuing their incredible improvement, the Rebels holding their own in a Division One thriller, and the Stars putting together another commanding performance.

What a special day for Wandong Netball Club! 🥹

We are incredibly proud to celebrate three of our Wandong players who have been recognised by the Kilmore Broadford Netball Association in the 2026 League Best & Fairest Awards.

🏆 Jude – U13 Best & Fairest Runner-Up
🏆 Lacey – U16 Best & Fairest Runner-Up
🏆 Abby – U16 Best & Fairest Winner

To have three Wandong players recognised at League level is an incredible achievement and something our whole club can be proud of.

These awards are decided across an entire season of netball, alongside players from clubs throughout the KBNA. To finish among the very best in your age group is a wonderful recognition of the consistency, determination, skill and sportsmanship each of these players has shown every time they have stepped onto the court.

But what makes this even more special for us is that we know the people behind the awards. ❤️

We have watched these players train, learn, challenge themselves, support their teammates and represent the green and white with pride. We've watched them grow as netballers and as people, and seeing that recognised beyond our own club is pretty special.

Jude, Lacey and Abby – congratulations. You should each be enormously proud of what you have achieved. Your Wandong family certainly is!

Today might have been about individual awards, but achievements like these are also a beautiful reflection of the teammates, coaches, families, volunteers and supporters who surround our players every week.

What a round for Wandong! Four teams, four wins and plenty to celebrate as we continue to see just how much these teams have developed since the beginning of the season. 💚🤍

🤠 9&U RAIDERS

Our Raiders faced TeamXtreme Red this week and brought home a fantastic win!

This little team is developing so well and really starting to gel. Their connection on court continues to grow each week, and it is fantastic to see everything they have been working on coming together.

🌟 Player of the Day – Jacob

🤠 11&U RENEGADES

BACK-TO-BACK WINS! 🎉

After celebrating their first win of the season last round, the Renegades have done it again, this time recording a brilliant 13–4 win over Beveridge Lightning!

It was incredibly difficult to choose a standout player this week because of just how well the entire team is beginning to play together. After six weeks of hard work, the Renegades have well and truly found their groove — and it is showing!

“Harper played all over the court this week, from defence to Centre to attack, and dominated in every position.”

🤠 13&U REBELS

What a way to make your Division One debut! 🔥

The Rebels stepped up a grade this week and showed absolutely no nerves, defeating MKA Black 19–11.

A disciplined defensive effort put pressure on MKA Black's attack from the beginning, while the Rebels transitioned the ball beautifully down the court, capitalising on turnovers and maintaining their lead throughout the match.

It was a fantastic first outing in Division One and a great indication that our Rebels are ready for the challenge!

🌟 Player of the Day – Riley

⭐ 15/17&U STARS

The Stars delivered another dominant performance this week, defeating TeamXtreme Red 35–6.

From the opening whistle, the Stars controlled the tempo of the game. Their relentless defensive pressure created turnover after turnover, while the attacking end capitalised on those opportunities and continued to build the scoreboard.

It was a brilliant four-quarter team performance from Wandong, with the Stars continuing to show just how well they are working together.

“Madison showed her amazing skills and great movement in many different positions, even taking on Centre and never giving up.”

The Kilmore Broadford Netball Association 2026 Season Raffle is on again, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs! 💰

There are only 90 numbers available across the entire KBNA, with each club allocated a selection of numbers.

🏐💚 PRELIMINARY FINAL WRAP-UP 💚🏐

Saturday brought our final two Wandong teams to the court for the Preliminary Finals, with 11&U White and 16&U Green both fighting for a place in the Grand Final.

While it wasn’t to be for either team, there is so much more to their seasons than the final scores. Both teams gave us plenty to be proud of, and their incredible journeys deserve to be celebrated.

🤍 11&U WHITE vs PYALONG MAROON

The sun was shining, but a crisp breeze swept across the court as our 11&U White team took on Pyalong Maroon.

From the very first whistle, the game was fast-paced and intense. Ava was on fire through the midcourt, while Mya and Wynter paired beautifully in the goal circle. Down the other end, Keira-Lee was absolutely relentless in GK, taking intercept after intercept and owning the defensive end all game long.

Our girls played with absolute heart and soul. They chased down every ball, fought for every possession and simply never gave up.

The game felt incredibly close throughout, but Pyalong managed to pull away in the final quarter to take the win 18–12 and bring our girls' season to an end.

Naturally, there were a few tears when the final whistle blew. It’s always hard when a season comes to an end, especially when a team has worked so hard and come so far.

But every single one of these players should be immensely proud of their journey this year. Watching their skills, confidence and connection grow throughout the season has been an absolute privilege.

A huge thank you to all of the families and supporters for your dedication throughout the year, and to Kate for everything she has given this team.

Girls, you made us incredibly proud. What a wonderful season. 🤍

💚 16&U GREEN vs KILMORE NAVY

We knew this one was going to be a showdown, and our 16&U Green team stepped onto the court with a mixture of smiles, nerves and excitement, ready to take on a very worthy opponent in Kilmore Navy.

Kilmore settled first and put the opening few goals on the board while our nerves got the better of us.

The second quarter proved challenging, with some distractions from outside the court making it difficult for the team to maintain their focus. By half-time, Kilmore had opened up a 15–8 lead and we knew we needed to find a way to reset.

Changing ends in the third quarter gave the team an opportunity to block everything else out, refocus and get back to doing what they do best — playing netball.

And that’s exactly what they did.

The second half showed the fight, determination and resilience that has defined this team all season. Emily was outstanding in defence, running a full game at GD and displaying incredible fitness, determination and skill.

Wandong won the second half of the match, but unfortunately the early deficit proved just a little too much to overcome, with Kilmore progressing to the Grand Final with a 26–21 win.

But that score tells only a tiny part of the story of this team.

This season, our entire playing group is bottom age, including two players still eligible for the 13&U age group. We went into the year hoping they might pick up a win or two, develop their skills and gain valuable experience playing at this level.

Instead, they absolutely blew those expectations out of the water.

What an extraordinary achievement from such a young team.

We could not be prouder of the season you have had. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of your journey, and I could not have asked for a better group of players.

Hold your heads high. You have achieved something pretty special this year — and we have a feeling this is only the beginning. 💚🤍

💚 CRAIGIEBURN ROUND 6 WRAP UP 💚

Round 6 looked a little different for our Wandong teams, with our Raiders sitting this one out while plenty of their players were busy representing Wandong at the KBNA 9&U Round Robin. Meanwhile, our other three teams took to the courts at Craigieburn — and there was plenty to celebrate! 🏐💚🤍

🤠 11&U RENEGADES

🎉 FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON! 🎉

What a fantastic moment for our Renegades, who recorded their first win of the season in convincing style with an 8–1 victory over Maggie's Magic!

After coming so close last round, it was brilliant to see all the hard work the girls have put in over the past five weeks come together — and this time show on the scoreboard!

This team has continued to improve every single week, and that persistence has paid off. Congratulations, Renegades! 💚👏

🌟 Player of the Match – Leyla

Another strong performance from the Rebels, defeating TeamXtreme 23–2.

The Rebels worked hard as a team, demonstrating excellent communication and determination across all four quarters. Their defensive pressure was particularly impressive, restricting TeamXtreme to just two goals, while the attacking end continued to build the score.

A fantastic all-round team effort and another great result for the Rebels! 💪💚

⭐ 15/17&U STARS

The Stars put together another excellent performance, finishing with a convincing 36–7 victory over MKA.

From the opening whistle, the Stars showed great teamwork, accurate passing and strong movement through the court. Their defensive pressure created plenty of turnovers, which the team worked hard to convert into scoring opportunities.

Most impressively, they maintained that intensity across all four quarters to finish with a well-deserved win. ⭐💚

🌟 No individual Player of the Match awards were presented for the Rebels or Stars this week — both performances were fantastic team efforts.

A huge congratulations to our Renegades on their first win, another pair of impressive performances from our Rebels and Stars, and well done to our Raiders who were busy with a huge day of netball elsewhere.

After a fantastic Semi Final weekend, U11 White and U16 Green are both through to the Preliminary Finals and will take the court this Saturday fighting for a place in the 2026 KBNA Grand Final! 🏆🔥
