It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of one of our Feel-Good family, June Aldridge. June was loved by all who met her. She had a big smile and even bigger heart. She brought gifts, and was always telling jokes and making us laugh. June was also one of the smartest people I knew; she could identify every plant, insect and spider. I loved hearing her stories about her younger years, setting up a farm with her husband, and later working as a biochemist. She shared two of her kids with us, introducing us to Tim and Jenny. I visited her in hospital recently, and she was still cracking jokes and had a big smile. With her usual fortitude, she announced that she wasn't afraid to die, it was part of the natural order of things, and she was grateful she'd lived a full and happy life, and couldn't want for anything more. Such a remarkable woman, was such an inspiration to me, and a true friend.

June, you will be sadly missed by us all, and fondly remembered # # #

Movement isn't a chore—it's a privilege.

So often we see exercise as something we have to do, but what if we reframed it as something we get to do?

Every walk, every lift, every stretch is a reminder of what our bodies are capable of. Not everyone has that opportunity, so let's move with gratitude.

Train because you can. Move because you're grateful. Strength is a gift—honour it. 💙

Inspired by my beautiful friend Glenn Cogan, who in less than 2 years has lost the ability to move due to Motor Neurone Disease. Please don't waste the gift of movement that's been granted to you...many others would love to be in your shoes 💙

Long post warning! I'm proud to celebrate our 3rd birthday. It's been so much more special than I ever dreamed.

Every single person who's ever come over the last 3 years (and I remember every one of you!) has made it what it is today...a community of people who come together because they want to improve their physical health, but realise they are also improving their mental health and social connections.

I never realised I would make friends...what an amazing thing! Or that people would make friends with each other. We can talk about our mental health, our physical ailments, our neurological differences, and feel safe. Everyone can laugh at my bad jokes or just at me in general 😅 and yet still build strength and fitness.

Feel-Good Fitness wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Brian Maggs...thank you so much to this beautiful human for helping me get started and supporting me the whole way.
And thank you to all the clients, past and present, for bringing me such a special gift..which is your presence.
Thanks to online followers which has now cracked the 500 mark.

Big things to come with a new studio and more classes on its way.
Can't wait to continue sharing the journey with you 💕

Walking is great — but it’s not the whole answer as we get older.

Strong legs help you get off the toilet. Strong arms help you carry groceries. Strong muscles help you catch yourself when you trip.

That’s what strength training protects.

As we age, building and keeping muscle is what keeps us independent. So yes, walk often… but don’t forget to lift things too. 💪
